Paragon - Floor Jansen (2023 Album) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL8iSYWeQhlikK8EsxZtTXplrqt9ikC0zX&si=XVJjPI1pGQ7c32XR
She is best known as the lead singer for the symphonic metal band, Nightwish. But her solo album makes a big departure from metal into pop, pop-rock territory. She wanted it to be different, and it is (IMO) awesome! Every track counts. All songs are original, and she co-wrote several of them. If I were voting for album of the year, this one would be at the top of my list.

Rockstar - Dolly Parton (2023 album)
The full album dropped today, and IMO, it’s phenomenal! There are 30 tracks, and 30 guest artists. The album is getting really good reviews from rock world, and Dolly is featured on the cover of this month’s Classic Rock magazine. The link will take you to her website where you can stream the album, with a list of all of the guest artists.

My review: I think that the songs were well chosen, and the guest list is superb. The album does rock! A lot of songs worked better than I expected, such as Queen’s We Are The Champions/We Will Rock You. There were a couple of tracks that I didn’t much care for, but overall I’d give it 4-1/2 ⭐️’s out of 5. After listening to this, I hope she will return for Rockstar part 2. Some of my favorite tracks . . .
Every Breath You Take, ft Sting (they should do an album together)
Night Moves, ft Chris Stapleton (although wish it had been Bob Seger)
Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me, ft Elton John
Tried To Rock And Roll Me, ft Melissa Ethridge
Bygones, ft Rob Hanford (Yeah, metal Dolly!)
Heartbreaker, ft Pat Benetar
My Blue Tears, ft Simon Le Bon (a song Dolly wrote for the album)
Let It Be, ft Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, & Peter Frampton on guitar

It's a good song. But, I'm still concerned about the ability to create things in someone else's name that they didn't actually do. John's not here to finish it, so it stay unfinished. If someone else wants to finish it, then they should do it in their own name. it's okay to give John credit, but he can't really participate in it. I'd count it as sneaky fraud. It's a slippery slope of "putting words/actions into someone else's mouth". It just doesn't taste right to me.

Heard the song yesterday, nice to see the video out today. It’s a lovely song, and the video is a fine tribute to both John and George. I can only imagine it was an emotional rollercoaster for Paul and Ringo. You could see the emotion in Paul’s face during the orchestra session. And when Paul and Ringo were singing together, I believe that they truly felt the presence of John and George with them. No doubt, they are smiling from the great beyond. 🥲 ❤️
Now and then, I miss you … 😢

My new playlist: Duets (multiple artists)
This playlist has limitless possibilities, so it can easily be changed up from time to time. There are so many good ones out there, in fact, entire albums by some artists, dedicated to duet collaborations. Many of them cross genres. I have both newer songs, along with some old classics. I will post a few samples under the Duets thread.
There are two threads on the forum where you can add your favorites, or search for inspiration for your own list.
https://community.aarp.org/t5/Rock-N-Roll/DUETS-BY-STRANGE-BEDFELLOWS-OR-UNLIKELY-PAIRS/m-p/2058797
Some artists with Duets albums include: Linda Ronstadt, Emmylou Harris, Kenny Rogers, Barbara Streisand, to name a few. Dolly Parton’s new album, Rock Star, has multiple collaborations on it. (Who wouldn’t want to sing with Miss Dolly?) A few have been released already. Miss Dolly has collaborated with many artists over the years. Willie Nelson is another one with numerous collaborations. My favorite collaborative albums include one by Mark Knopfler and Emmylou Harris, two by Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, and of course, Waylon & Willie.
