Rock N Country Playlist
I put together a playlist of rock songs recorded by country artists, of which there are many, and country songs recorded by rock artists which are not so plentiful. To balance it out, I added a few rock songs that sound country, such as Lodi by CCR.andTeach Your Children by CSN. I still have enough rock songs covered by country artists to make up another playlist or two! If you think of any good covers of country songs by rock artists, please let me know. ๐
Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, and Emmylou Harris are all major contributors to the playlist. Here is a good one by Emmylou,
The Boxer (S&G cover).
My favorite rock cover of a country song is this one:
The Thunder Rolls, State of Mine (Garth Brooks cover)

I just have to post this. Controversial, but important. Listening to my tunes, a line just hit me. It fits into this current topic of A(rtificial) I(ntelligence). The real question to answer, is, "Who's really in charge?". Who really knows what all those algorithms do? I think these two songs address that phenomenon:
Soul Asylum - Runaway Train (Official HD Video) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NRtvqT_wMeY
And the line that really hit me is, "Will you take yourself out to the curb?", found in this 2nd song:
Matchbox Twenty - Mad Season 20th Anniversary (12. Stop) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2usovFYUS0E
Who says philosophy is BS? Shouldn't we be in charge of our own lives? But, that doesn't mean that there are no consequences to our choices. Will AI take itself out to the curb/trash if it discovers that it's fatally flawed?
Another line in this song applies to Runaway Train. "You gotta get up sometimes to get off.". Will AI let you get up to get off (of its train)?
Mistake/correction: I listened to that song again and couldn't find that line. "Will you take yourself out to the curb?" is found in You Won't Be Mine. But, the whole album is good; there's not a bad song in that album. Matchbox 20; Mad Season album https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLqDFldWOJL7CUJdX_CR0W82-LvCnsyCj0
All in all, Rob Thomas/Matchbox 20 is an excellent band. I highly recommend them.

@dl73698250 - Looking back, I think of the Zager & Evans song, In The Year 2525, from 1969. It came out a week before the Apollo moon landing, and sci-fi songs and movies were becoming popular themes. The lyrics seem pretty haunting already, and nowhere near 2525 yet!

I remember when that song come out. I think my brother had it on a 45rpm record.
Also, 'round about that time, I was reading a comic book called Magnus The Robot Fighter. I bought quite a few.
This might be off-the-wall, but, it seems like the older you get, there are a lot more "dots to connect". Metaphorically speaking, there gets to be so many dots, that there is no longer any daylight showing between them. The whole page looks blacked out. As the world gets "smaller", it also gets darker.
