Found this one on a CD called Pop Music From Africa that I stumbled across in the 90's in a used record store....Among the best things I ever spent $2.00 on.

Beethoven’s Ninth meets Rock 1985 - Deep Purple

. . . Another take on Beethoven. A similar version was done previously by Ritchie with Rainbow as Difficult To Cure, but Ritchie with Purple was more exciting.

There are a lot of classical pieces that are done by rock musicians. I am fond of classical and the rock versions.

One comes to mind "Hall of the Mountain King" Electric Light Orchestra. That piece was done by many.

Ya know, that might be a good thread to start "Classical by Rock Bands" or something like that, if it hasn't been done already.

@Vexed  - Yes, they did! Maybe you should start a topic. It hasn’t been done to my knowledge, and I’ve been here a few years now.

@MaVolta- Never saw the movie...never knew it was on the soundtrack till now...just get a kick out of the tune.  Thanks for the information.  I guess great music really is timeless.

Yes! And if Beethoven and Bach were still alive, they would be owed a ton of money! 😂
