Tell us about yourself:
I am new to AARP and this community board. I have been in education for my entire adult life; primarily in adolescent and adult education. I have worked as a high school classroom teacher of Classical Latin, Italian, Spanish, and ESL. I have also worked with adults as an ESL teacher, computer instructor, technical trainer and writer, and an education consultant. I enjoy mostly language & linguistics, literature & poetry, history, science, art, and music. As a language teacher, I have been fortunate to be able to merge many of my passions into the subjects I have taught since language learning always includes some exposure to geography, history, and the arts. I am currently a classroom teacher of Spanish at a private high school where my 17 year old son attends. This was by design. I have raised him on my own since he was three years old. This year he will begin Senior year of high school.
Area of knowledge and what I know well:
I try to keep active and love learning new things. Right now in my life I enjoy cycling, walking, running, and strenth training. I love to sing and play my guitar. I also enjoy reading and cooking.
