Songs about Heroes or Heroines

Just trying to think up a new song topic, so maybe try this one. Think of songs about your heros or heroines. Songs may have hero in the title or lyrics (those are easy), but others may be inferred by something a person has done, or be in reference to a particular person. Be creative!

So here are my first picks to get started -

Holding Out for a Hero - Bonnie Tyler

Candle in the Wind - Elton John (in reference to Marilyn Monroe and later Lady Diana)

โ€œWhen the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.โ€ - Jimi Hendrix

The Boxer: Simon and Garfunkel (Not every hero emerges a winner; the boxer here, a sad figure certainly, nonetheless [I believe] is heroic in his perserverance against unbeatable odds).

Shop Around: The Miracles (mama knows best, although her observation that pretty girls come a dime a dozen and that her son should shop around [like they were a grocery item] might not resonate today).
