SONG TITLE WORD ASSOCIATION
Okay
This is meant to be a long running topic . The rules are simple and there are a zillion songs out there, so lets see what we can do with this.
You start with a song title. Let's use Love in an Elevator - Aerosmith
You look at that title, pick out one word from it and find a new song title with that word in it,( example, In & Out of Love - Bon Jovi) then post the new title as your post. The next person follows. See easy
So lets give it a try. My title is Love in an Elevator - Aerosmith.

GREAT post! I so loved this cover, which many did, but no one like Joe Cocker!
One of my fav memories was a van full of us "hippies" on our way from KCMO to Texas to see him in concert (somewhere in early 71, perhaps). We pulled into a rest stop to nap and awoke to a mass mosquito attack, and agreed everything is bigger in Texas 😉
On the "trip" home, we wondered...
...did Joe sing while prone on the stage floor?
Still not sure, but it sure seemed so...
Thanks for a great reminder of a great song and even greater artist!

KCMO is a beautiful city! I grew up in Tulsa (also a beautiful city), so the music of Leon Russell, JJ Cale, & the Tulsa Sound is what pulses through my veins, and I recently became obsessed with watching old YouTube videos of the Mad Dogs & Englishmen tour in 1970. So much drama & craziness on that tour, but I actually can't imagine any tour greater than that one, between Leon's genius as Musical Director (who as a member of the Wrecking Crew had an amazing network & apparently called everyone he knew to be on this tour) and Joe's sheer Janis-like energy and abandon.
Watching the closing songs of the set (Delta Lady & Give Peace a Chance), I can totally imagine at some point Joe very well may have started singing prone from the stage floor. By the end of both of those songs, he is drenched in sweat, about to fall over, and is visibly relieved to get to the end. The crowd is cheering ... but then Leon starts the song up again (this happens 2 or 3 times at the end of each one), and the look on Joe's face is priceless, like "Are you KIDDING ME??" and then he just dives back into the song again full force. Anyway, I'll try to put the links to those 3 songs below. They're all great though, and quite a few of them are on YouTube now.

You shoulda' been a writer for Rolling Stone, seriously! This post truly represents the glory of that time and these genres.
Plus, you make me proud of my personal choices in music, especially name-dropping my idol, Miss Janis...
Coincidentally, I've been having the same obsession on YouTube! I've often wondered how Joe and Janis performing together would have been... I so wish it could have been (but no AI version, please 🤬 ).
Thanks for the links! The beginning of the first especially brings back what I wondered for a very long time until the internet came along and solved it for me: why do British singers speak with British accent but sound American when they sing? Strange isn't it, but it's true!
