SONG TITLE WORD ASSOCIATION II (OLDIES ONLY)

Same guidelines as the original forum.

The only difference is this is for oldies.

I am setting the following rule:

No songs beyond 1972.

I'll start with a classic:

As an aside, this is def one of my fav songs, every and all versions...

Two feel personal to me:

Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong - Summertime [1958] (pre-video)

Janis Joplin: Summertime

Unfortunately no quality recordings of Ms Billie Holiday performing this Gershwin masterpiece exists, to my knoelrfhr, tho some degraded versions are out there (it was early 20th century...) .

I think my thought here is how many composers, writers, musicians, vocalists honor others through their interpretations and presentations? I somehow think all involved will feel our appreciation, love of talent, and honor.
