Please Just Go Songs
Social distancing kind of stinks, but it's a necessary evil and it is temporary. But sometimes six feet is not enough. You want them out of your life forever. Today we can let them know this by ghosting them, deleting them from our contact lists, unfriending them. But yesterday, today, and most likely tomorrow, when we want to say "We're done here," we can do it in a song. It can be done gently, as in "Young Girl" by the Union Gap or it can be downright nasty, as in "Hit the Road, Jack. " How many songs can you think of that are asking, telling, or otherwise suggesting that someone just get lost?
