Honored Social Butterfly

We’ve done First Notes and Opening Lines so

it’s time to do Last Lines. What are your most

memorable last lines of your fav songs? If

you’re so inclined, tell us why also 🎼💜

And in the end, the love you take

Is equal to the love you make”

The End, Fab 4️⃣

The final lines from this song from the incredible Abbey Road Medley have always resonated

to me in the deepest way. To me they represent

equality, purity, love and religion all wrapped up in one. This stands as one of the best last lines ever, imo 🎼💜

Honored Social Butterfly

When the final line is over

And it’s certain that the curtain’s gonna fall

I can hide within your sweet, sweet love forevermore

The Story In Your Eyes -  Moody Blues

“When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.” - Jimi Hendrix

“Wrong, do it again

If you don’t eat yer meat, you can’t have any

How can you have any pudding if you don’t

eat yer meat?

You! Yes, you behind the bike sheds, stand still

Another brick in the wall, Pink Floyd

I won’t pretend to understand the lyrics

to this song but the last lines are just

about the most clever I’ve ever heard 🎼💜

Social Butterfly

Remember Remember, The 5th of November.

Remember-John Lennon

Honored Social Butterfly

”But if you ask for a rise, it’s no surprise

That they’re giving none away”

Money, Pink Floyd

The above are the official last lines, however

There is an outro of “aways” by David Gilmour

and then a long spoken fadeaway Outro that literally could of been a conversation in a bar. In true Pink Floyd fashion, they always set the bar at the highest

level of creativity. Another reason why I love

them and this song 🎼💜

Honored Social Butterfly

They call it paradise

I don’t know why

You call someplace paradise

Kiss it goodbye

The Last Resort  -  Eagles

Isn’t that the truth! My favorite Eagles / Don Henley song.

“When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.” - Jimi Hendrix
Regular Social Butterfly

"Sorry, we're so sorry
Don't be sorry
Man has known
And now he's blown it
Upside down and hell's the only sound
We did an aweful job
And now we're just a little too late"

Nobody's Fault - Aerosmith

A diamond in the rough from the Rocks album.  The whole song is timelessly it was written by a history professor or something.

So much love to make up everywhere you turn

Love we have wasted on the way

So much water running underneath the bridge

Let the water come and carry us away

Let the water come and carry us away

Wasted On The Way - CSN

Written by Graham Nash, it was about how much time they wasted trying to get back together and finally record their third and final album.

At some level, this song speaks to everyone about time wasted that we will never get back.

“When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.” - Jimi Hendrix
Honored Social Butterfly

One of the best songs in rock n roll. Great message and so true. My personal fav of

theirs 🎼💜

"If everything should turn around
And it's me who feels so down and out
You could be the kind of company
To share a load and know how bad it feels
Everybody needs to have a friend"

"Everybody Needs a Friend" - Wishbone Ash

Always loved these lyrics and the beautiful guitar(s). The first part of the song tells about how he could be a friend when someone is in need. The last lines tell that he hopes they will be a friend if he is in need. Friendship has always been important to me, since growing up moving every couple of years. Make friends then lose them. So I treasure all.

”Sad faces painted over with those magazine

smiles, heading out to somewhere won’t be

back for awhile”

Dreamboat Annie, Heart

The title song from this iconic album has

awesome lyrics and musicality. Just a

gorgeous song 🎼💜

Who wants to live forever?

Who wants to live forever?

Forever is our today

Who wants to wait forever anyway?

Who Wants To Live Forever  -  Queen

Written by Brian May for the film Highlander, where the principal character is immortal. Sadly, he faces the loss of his wife who is not. I think it is often forgotten what a brilliant songwriter Brian May is.

“When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.” - Jimi Hendrix
Honored Social Butterfly

”In my life I love you more”

In my life, Fab 4️⃣

It’s not just the words, it’s the way Lennon

sings it. This is a beautiful and pure love

song with John at his finest 🎼💜

Social Butterfly

Time-Pink Floyd

Far away, across the field
The tolling of the iron bell
Calls the faithful to their knees
To hear the softly spoken magic spells

Social Butterfly

"Disappear" - Dream Theater

"You were strong, I was trying
I gave you my hand
I said it's okay
Letting go time to leave here
And I'll carry on
The best that I can
Without you here beside me
Let him come take you home"

Very moving sad song about loss of a loved one and the struggle to go on without them. Loss affects us, past and future.

Live - with lyrics at bottom of screen -

Putting under sad songs that make you cry.

Honored Social Butterfly

I am the voice of Never-Never-Land

The innocence, the dreams of every man

I am the empty crib of Peter Pan

A silent kite against the blue blue sky

Every chimney, every moonlit sight

I am the story that will read you real

Every memory that you hold dear

Storytime - Nightwish

So yeah, I kinda like this song! 😎

“When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.” - Jimi Hendrix

Seeing clearer, what I’ve done

I refuse to let things go

i could never once admit I’m wrong

And what do I have to show?

Seeing clearer what’s at stake

And the things I have to change

I just hope I can, it’s not too late

Too get a chance to end this pain

Last Man Standing - Hammerfall

He’s writing about pride, a man who sold his soul to win at all costs. But with age came wisdom, and now he sees how wrong he was, and the need to change his ways. He still has hope.

Metal has some of the most poignant lyrics in music. 🤘

“When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.” - Jimi Hendrix
Honored Social Butterfly

Never heard of them so had to give a listen.

Really good song with a definite message.

Always a chance for redemption if one

owns up to their choices

Honored Social Butterfly

”I’m the burning bush, I’m the burning fire

I’m the bleeding volcano”

She’s so cold, Stones

The clever lyrics make me

smile every time 🎼💜

Regular Social Butterfly

"I said I'm hooked on a feeling
And I'm high on believing
That you're in love with me
I'm hooked on a feeling"

Hooked On A Feeling - Blue Swede

Such a joyous song...we could always use more of this.

Honored Social Butterfly

Two songs whose last lines express a similar piece of wisdom:

Desperado:  Eagles  (You better let somebody love you before it's too late)

Nature Boy: Nat King Cole  (The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return)

Honored Social Butterfly

Sticking with the amazing lyricist, Bernie Taupin …

I hope you don’t mind

I hope you don’t mind

That I put down in words

How wonderful life is while your in the world

essence of never ending love and all

the hope and promise love brings 🎼💜

”Don’t keep me waiting here

break up. I know it is one of their most

beautiful songs that ends on a positive

note 🎼💜

Won't Get Fooled Again - The Who

Meet the new boss
Same as the old boss"

In the context of the rest of the song, seems to be a call to do a better job of learning from so as to stop repeating History.

Bronze Conversationalist

"If we had love before, we can have it back, once more."

Honored Social Butterfly

”Love is all you need, Oh yeah,

She loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah

She loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah”

All you need is love, Fab 4️⃣

I’ve never been shy about my eternal

love for this song. At the songs end,

they go thru a long chorus of Love is

all you need with some Cat Calling then

Paul launches into She loves you yeah,

yeah, yeah which is another song I love.

Just so amazingly clever and the perfect

end to a perfect song 🎼💜
