GREAT COVERS OF YOUR FAVORITE SONGS
For many an original song that they love cannot and will not ever be duplicated by a cover, but there are many songs that have been done equally (debatebly) well by others..
So do you have favorites?
What are your favorite covers of favorite songs?

I never knew about this song being a cover, although I've loved this song when I heard it in the movie, 'X.' Chelsea Wolfe did an amazing job. [chills]

Landslide - The Chicks (formerly Dixie Chicks), Stevie Nicks cover
Their harmonies are so beautiful. But they also performed it live with Stevie Nicks and that added a new dimension.

The best, Tina Turner. A 1989 cover of Bonnie Tyler, 1988.
Had no idea Tinaโs version was a cover until
the day she passed. I played it that day and
have played it every day since. It still brings
me to tears.
No one else should EVER try to sing it
except for Tina. She, like the song, is

One of the original punk rock songs is Surfing Bird by the trashmen from 1964, which is Peter Griffin's favorite record. This was actually a cover of two songs by the Rivingtons, Birds The Word and PaPa um Ma Ma from 1962. The Rivingtons' original has the juice. Many others have also recorded the two songs and of these my favorite is by the Ramones.

Play With Fire - Manfred Mannโs Earth Band (Rolling Stones cover)
Another classic song as reimagined by The Mann. While it may not have the sass of Mick Jaggerโs original, they take the musical arrangement to a whole new level.
