One of the original punk rock songs is Surfing Bird by the trashmen from 1964, which is Peter Griffin's favorite record.    This was actually a cover of two songs by the Rivingtons, Birds The Word and PaPa um Ma Ma from 1962.   The Rivingtons' original has the juice.  Many others have also recorded the two songs and of these my favorite is by the Ramones.

Chase Webster's {Gary D. Bruce} original version of "Moody River" He sang it, wrote it and then Pat Bland Boone got a hold of it. But the original is getting its due credit .
