Ludwig van Beethoven  -  250th Birthday Anniversary celebrated today

Beethoven is considered to be one of the greatest composers and musical geniuses of all time. He is credited with over 700 musical compositions over a 45 year period. His works spanned the classical and romantic eras of Western music. He was known for his innovation and improvisational skills. 

He is best known for his nine symphonies, a number of violin and piano concertos, chamber music, string quartets, and one opera, among his numerous compositions. His 9th Symphony, Ode to Joy, is often considered his greatest work as he was completely deaf at the time he composed it. As an innovator, Beethoven included a chorus at the end of this symphony; the first ever to do this.

Beethoven is my favorite classical composer. He still rocks!
