I watched two shows of note this
weekend. First was Rocketman,
which I liked. I also watched “The
making of wish you were here“ a
2012 documentary with interviews
with the band members. It delved
into how Syd Barretts decent into
mental illness affected them and
still does today. Excellent program

@BeatleloverKT - I look forward to seeing Rocketman. There is also a docu-interview with Sir Elton from 2019 after the book and movie had been released. It was on Amazon Prime and lasts about an hour.
I also watched the "WYWH" documentary, and thought it was very well done.

This is from a few days back, but I just noticed it. The Stones have released a “new” song that they recorded 47 years ago with Jimmy Page. It will be on the re-release of Goats Head Soup 2020, along with a few more never published demos, outtakes, etc. Some of the comments on YT are funny. Here is the link to Scarlet.

Happy Birthday, Peter Louis Vincent de Freitas, 2 August 1961 - 14 June 1989, of Echo & the Bunnymen fame.Your beats inspired an entire generation of budding young drummers to get a kit & give it a kick. Until EBM hit the scene, we'd never encountered such stylish, one-of-a-kind, hard-driving tunes reflecting our youthful ennui & inner angst (it sounds silly now, but it's the truth). For those of us destined for other instruments, like our own voices &/or guitar, any time your music came on, be it in a packed club or just our crowded living room full of misfit punkrock miscreants, every single one of us was compelled to immediately jump to our feet & dance like crazy people whose lives depended on it until the ultimate note/chord/beat of the very last song had ceased to vibrate. Man, the world lost you way too soon. Sure wish u were still here with us to celebrate your entry upon the world's stage, my musical brother. Rock in Peace & Blessed Be. SRW, NorCal.
