Try Your Luck - New Instant Wins Are Here!

On February 27th, you may notice a slight delay in the Instant Win games. - https://www.aarp.org/rewards/redeem/instantwin/#sort-by=default

Instant Win is leveling up! Find the same beloved concept but with a new gamified experience. Spin the virtual slot machine to see if instant luck is yours or witness geometric magic as squares dance into winning patterns. Best of all, you’ll learn instantly if you won!

We are excited about this launch and giving you the first heads up it’s coming!  It is officially live and would love to get your feedback here!

The new Instant Win graphics takes more time to load, and sometimes comes with technical errors when loading.  The anticipation of winning is lost when the first symbol isn't the gift card you're hoping to win, but at least we already know in advance we didn't win before the "Sorry" message is posted. Comparing the 2 new Instant Win games (changing tiles and slot machine), the slot machine seems to work better for me.  Hope the technical errors can be corrected.

I just played the Burger King instant win (tile shuffle) and I got 3 Burger King gift cards in the top horizontal row and it is saying "SORRY YOU DIDN'T WIN".

Just out of curiosity, has anybody actually won an instant win under this new format?

@AndrewM333062  I am guessing that you were not playing the Instant Win game for the Burlington gift card, but instead playing an Instant Win game for a different gift card.  In order to be a winner,  you would have to be playing the Burlington Instant Win game and then get 3 Burlington's in a row.  Hope this help explains the game.

Just played the Instant Win Slot - had 3 DSW in a row & said I didn’t win? I did take a screenshot. I thought I read if you had 3 gift cards on slots you won?

I just played the Burlington instant win and got 2 rows with 3 Burlington gift cards (which should be a winner) and it said I did not win. Before I could take a screen shot of the 2 winning rows it flipped one more time to a losing combination. I wish they would bring back the old instant wins. It seems like no one likes the new games. I know I don't like them.

@KathyM760102  Hi KathyM

I think to get a WIN in this stupid game you had to be playing the DSW instant win game. It does you no good to say get 3 CVS tiles in a row but you are playing the DSW instant win and not the CVS game. MAKE SENSE ??
Leave it to admin to make everything they do confusing & as complicated as possible.

I was played the DSW slot and the 3 spin tiles all stopped on all DSW - this was the slot game.

I will reach out to AARP on Monday - thanks to all!

If you were playing the "DSW Instant Win"  game and got 3 DSW in a row, then you should be a winner, however, if you got 3 DSW for a different game, then you didn't win.

Do they mix different awards in the same instant win play? That is, if one is playing the DSW Instant Win, would Burger King or other companies logo appear in the DSW game? I'm asking out of curiosity as I haven't noticed any other company's logo appear when I have played an instant win other than the company I was playing for but then I could have missed it. Thanks.

I got a "technical difficulty error" when trying to load the Macy's Instant Win, and then when I tried to go back in to play, it said I already played.  Not a fan of this new way of Instant Wins.

I suppose this new approach to Instant Win games will appeal to somebody but I am not a fan.

What a waste of AARP funds!!!

This is a negative Return On Investment!!!

There is NO value added!!!

Give me the old system

AARP - stop wasting money. You could have put this software expenditure into more $10 Members Only gift cards!!!

I agree. The new "slot machine" graphic takes longer to load, and there's no suspense or anticipation of possibly winning if the first symbol to appear isn't the Gift Card.

I liked the old system from a year or two ago where an Instant Win was instantly and joyously announced by a "Lucky You!" and a big shower of confetti. Plus, back then I was able to win about once a month on average, versus once every six months now (I enter all 7 Instant Win offers on a daily basis).

*Sigh*

Hi Gary! @garyfish49

Thanks for this post...& agree as usual! I don’t see the advantage of this ‘new’ way to see the ever familiar “SORRY YOU DIDN’T WIN” ☹️

especially with:

“witness geometric magic as squares dance into winning patterns.” 🙄

And yes...they absolutely should go back to the former way of IWs & sweeps .....

& also offered ONLY TO PAID MEMBERS!!

BTW: It’s time to get ready for the:

>>>> MARCH EXTRA REGRET-IT!! LOL!

Yippee Ki-Yay! 😊 haahaaha

Anyway... Take care my friend Gary!

Note to IT Staff: just played the Instant game/ Slot Machine - it worked; but there is 'not a visible' X delete button - usually on the top right corner when a person completes the entry to exist this screen or if a person decides not to enter - I had to guess my cursor in the black background to find it.

Update: hours later ~7:53 pm-ish the 'problem has been fixed by IT Staff' = the X delete this screen/ exit screen is visible. ☑️

I also tried the Instant win with Magic Squares = this is one is not a problem - the exit / delete button is visible and working properly.

😐  .... and, of course... Sorry, you didn't win this time....

Might as well re-name this as "Instant Lose."

I'm a long-time AARP Member, and I play all 7 Instant Wins on a daily basis. Up until about a year ago, I would win about once a month... since then, my Instant Wins have declined to an average of about once every 6 months.

I'm a strong advocate of reverting back to an AARP Rewards Progam where Instant Wins and Sweepstakes are offered to PAID MEMBERS ONLY. If this is done, not only would Members experience more frequent and rewarding wins, but AARP would substantially boost its paid membership. Win-win.

Hi Gary! @garyfish49

Thanks for posting about this...& totally agree as usual! My Instant Wins & sweepstakes wins have declined to 1-2 a year....not hardly worth it anymore! This month the sweeps were focused on travel & cruises...not for like $100 or more Home Depot, Lowes, Wal GCs etc...so I waited for the 2nd half of this month for newer ones..but they never came...so with few IWs I’m interested in ...I simply stopped bothering to earn any points & only redeemed like 2 IWs a day....less reason to even come here anymore...thanks so much AARP!

And yes...they absolutely should go back to the former way of IWs & sweeps offered to PAID MEMBERS ONLY.

Anyway... Take care my friend Gary!  ☮️  ~Allen  🌈

Gary, I hear what your saying but in regards to Instant Wins and Sweepstakes for 'only paid member' but this runs against common laws regarding Sweepstakes run in this country;

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Can you charge to enter a sweepstakes?

Don't pay to enter a sweepstakes or to collect a prize. Legitimate sweepstakes are free and by chance. It is illegal to require you to buy something or pay to enter or increase your odds of winning.....

"Any legitimate sweepstakes is totally free to enter. It's illegal in the United States to run a giveaway that requires a purchase or a membership to enter.......

A Consumer's Guide to Sweepstakes and Lotteries
 U.S.. Postal Inspection Service

🤔   Interesting Note: for this month there has been no 'points only gift cards for non-members'....so far.
There is a new thread about this very subject in this forum elsewhere. Is this an anomaly (possibly a test run by R & D ) or a new trend??   🤔

😎   Oh, in regards to the new 27th Instant Wins - it's a visual enhancement over the simple text of    ' sorry, you didn't win this time...'
Progress....?...One armed bandit ----> one mouse bandit..... 🤔

Hi! @OneDayMatisyahu

I get what you’re saying as well...but since AARP already did offer IWs & sweeps to PAID MEMBERS ONLY....I don’t see why they can’t do it again...as Gary mentioned!

AFA the ‘visual enhancement’....we’ll have to wait & see what it actually looks like! However...to me....I don’t see the advantage of this ‘new’ way to see the ever familiar “SORRY YOU DIDN’T WIN” ☹️...especially with: “witness geometric magic as squares dance into winning patterns.”🙄

Yippee Ki-Yay! 😊haahaaha

A loss is a loss....sugar coating ain’t gonna make momma any more happier...😄LOL!!
