Paramount Plus discount doesn't work for existing account

I followed the instructions for applying the discount to an existing account: cancel existing account, log out, go to the paramountplus.com/aarp site, verify AARP account.  But at that point, it wanted me to make an entirely new account, and wouldn't accept my existing one.  When I signed in, it just left that process entirely.  This seems to either be a flaw in the process, or they don't really intended to let it work on existing accounts and the benefit page should reflect that.

I agree.  Total incompetence which is typical of AARP staff.  Those instructions don't work and it's a complete train wreck to follow them.  Why didn't they get some idiot to just review what they instructed us to do.  Not sure why I'm even a member of AARP.  It's always more trouble than it's worth.

I wonder did/does anyone actually test the instructions listed on the website for existing Paramount Plus subscribers to get the AARP discount?   They woud see immediately that the instructions simply do not work!!!

You're WRONG Diana G.  Do you even know what you're talking about?  Did you even try to follow your own instructions?  Does anyone even check your answers to this forum...because it's incorrect!

Yes, I followed the instructions on the website and they did not work. No option to verify AARP account was presented. It went back to the old monthly rate. The instructions simply do not work!!!

Especially since you know you bring out all the discounts you get from AARP and then you go to use them and then all there's clauses and I can't get it. That's bs

The same is true for my account; it will not allow an AARP discount and defaults to the old original price, except now it will not even allow me to cancel the subscription.

So, in the end, I could not cancel the subscription at all; Pararamount+ automatically renewed at the total price of $119.  Nice eh?

That much I can explain.  When I was trying this, I noticed it says you can only cancel once per some period of time (a month, I think?).  So there's a cooldown period on it.

You're WRONG!  You can't re-subscribe with the same email address...it just makes you log in again without the discount.  How often can you post incompetent answers to this forum before being fired?

As noted in the original post, that is what I did.  It would not let me resubscribe using my existing email address after I cancelled, it insisted that account already existed.
