Monthly Extra Credit Deals
It is currently 12:24 EST on March 1. The system, once again, is goobered up such that no matter how many times you watch a video or take a quiz, the message comes back saying that AARP Rewards is having technical difficulties. Of course, you get no credit for doing the tasks either.
Why is this happening? It isn't like this is the first time the system is offering this as it is done EVERY month. I am tired and would like to get some sleep. If I wake up tomorrow morning, even at 6 AM EST to get the offerings, the ones I want will be gone.
Please, please either change when the monthly extra credit deals start such that we in the EST zone can participate at a reasonable time, or reserve some deals for the EST zone members. The way it is currently being run is just nasty.

There would be a discrepancy on the west coast if either coast is favored. West coast would be sleeping at 3 am Hawaii would be MIDNIGHT while the east coast gets up first. It's best for a business' to do their business in the time zone they are located.

Thank you, Karyn. I did not suggest that the time be moved up to 6AM for the East Coast for the Monthly Extra Credit Deals. As you pointed out, if these deals opened at 6AM for the East Coast, Hawaii would be MIDNIGHT while the East Coast gets up first. Right now, the east coast IS at midnight to get the offers. Can you see how unfair that is to the East Coast?
Currently, the problem is the West Coast (9PM) is favored at the expense of the East Coast (midnight). Perhaps the times can be moved up such that the first of the month deals can be issued at 9PM EST on the last day of the month. That would put the West Coast at 6PM and Hawaii at 3PM. AARP Rewards members on the East Coast could then get a good night's sleep.

On numerous occasions, I have missed out on desirable $10 points only gift cards that were released at 7-8 am EST which is 4-5 am on the west coast. The Extra Credit offerings of $5 points only gift cards have not been that desirable to me, so I don't bother with the Extra Credit activities most of the time. The west coast lose out on new rewards before they get up, while the east coast may lose out on the EC offerings. It evens out for both coasts as @Karyn8 explained. My preference would be for new "points only" rewards be offered later in the morning or at noon EST instead of the early hours of 7 am to 8 am EST.

It's not unfair at all. The clock runs on the time the business is located in. Banks, stock brokers and many others on the west coast have to start their days at the crack of dawn because of the time difference. The clock and DATES are not flexible, the are fixed. It all evens out when the west coast looses out to new rewards before they get up.

It is probably a consequence of ruining the instant win games. As you know everytime AARP changes something it seems to muck up their whole system.
Anyway as the $5 gift cards are not for anything much good, I would not worry about losing them during the night; it would be extremely surprising if they were sold out so quickly.
