How Ironic or Bad Timing — Taco Bell Featured As Monday’s Daily Deal

A morbid irony I thought!   After what’s been in the news of late with the  Cyclosporiasis outbreak tied to lettuce served at Taco Bell.  I would assume these Daily Deals are planned in advance.  But what irony seeing this offered!

[7/29/26] Are you "skipping" lettuce entirely? 🤔 I have NOT been a "fan" of it as I aged. A carrot & broccoli old lady.

Great discussion as usual Serene @SereneSeagull & your comments Maria @MariaK113398 , @Vexed !!!

➡️[*** Per the News Media here in Virginia TODAY - Virginia reports 126 cyclosporiasis cases as a recalled lettuce product sparks concern, sending more shoppers to local farms and produce markets.

BE SAFE All,

Nicole!

For a few years now I've been buying only Little Leaf Lettuce, a company in Mass. All lettuce is grown in a huge indoor greenhouse and the lettuce is NEVER touched by human hands, everything is hands off. Because it's nearby the lettuce is at the grocery store the day after harvesting. The lettuce is out of this world and lasts and lasts, I've never thrown any out because it's so fresh (and I eat it so fast). Once you try it you can't go back. I want them to make me a spokesperson for the company but so far no offers 🙂

Taco Bell took the hit and removed products. The supplier, Taylor Farms was the source.

Check if you have bag salad mixes or other products from Taylor Farms.

Now the FDA is saying the test for cyclospora on the Taylor farms lettuce was a false positive??

Esteemed Social Butterfly

The specific sample did not.  Sampling again, I’d hope @MariaK113398 .

Let's hope they do more testing and they get to the bottom of this. It's peak time for summer produce and we want to enjoy it, not be afraid of it.

Hard to trust anything anymore. Besides disrupting lives and businesses, they are scaring us into not eating anything. Hope they get this figured out.

Just came back from Walmart, where most all of the bagged lettuce section is empty.  MarketSide brand bagged lettuce is sold there, which was one of the ones by Taylor Farms.  At this point I’d be leery about any bagged lettuce.

I read that most of Trader Joe's store brand salad mixes and greens come from Taylor Farms.
