The FAQ is not helpful... the interface is confusing. Maybe because there are too many options.
I have over 5,300 points... are they redeemable for anything that I don't have to "buy"... ?
Input appreciated in simple terms. Thanks.
Christine
If you go to the redeem page and filter on "For Points", you will see what you can use your points to redeem. Mostly digital downloads and greeting cards, and also Instant Wins and Sweepstakes. You can use your points to play the Instant Wins and Sweepstakes, but no guarantee of winning (I haven't won one of these in over 3 years). You have a better chance of winning an Instant Win (there are 125 of them for the 7 days they are available, and you can enter once a day) than winning a Sweepstake (the $100 ones are usually 10 available, the higher value ones are only 5 or 1, so there are thousands of people entering for only a few available). There are always "extra credit" gift cards at the beginning of the month, usually for $5, and you have to do the extra credit activities to be eligible for them, and then you can get them with your points. Other gift cards are offered randomly throughout the month, usually for $5 or $10. The problem with these gift cards is that again there are only a limited amount available (I'm not sure how many), and once they are gone they show as "Sold Out" and are no longer available. And the good ones sell out really quick, so if you don't happen to be logged on and see them right away, you can't get them. And the gift cards are usually over 15000 points, so you will need to earn more points to be able to get them. So it is up to you to decide if this rewards program is really worth your time.
@c585486t Hi Christine
thats the AARP indoctrination hype all the HELP receives
First off, sweepstakes you will never win, local deals that are not accepted by the local merchants, member exclusive means e-cards, gift cards ?? Well there are the ones you rarely will win - INSTANT WINS & then there are the discounted ones, most are only an 8 % discount, and then you have to get through the dreaded checkout hassle with all it’s difficulties. On top of that cross your fingers 🤞🤞that your confirmation email arrives from AARP/Hello World adminstration.
Welcome to the AARP REWARDS PROGRAM. 😀
Have a nice day ☀️
Hello Christine, let me clear this up for you. Yes, you can redeem your points in things you don't have to buy as well. You can use your points on sweepstakes entries, local deals, member exclusives, gift cards, and more. Detail information on what can you redeem your rewards points for and how to do it can be found here: https://help.aarp.org/s/article/how-do-i-redeem-my-rewards-points?cmp=SNO-LITHIUM---&socialid=139943... - Daniela R.
