Attempt to redeem my third gift card for the month of April, 2026.

I attempted to redeem points for a $5.00 Chipolte gift card today, and received a message that I am at my monthly limit, which is incorrect.  I have redeemed points for two other cards this month, leaving one card remaining.  I thought, perhaps, this was a glitch involving the Chipolte card redemption, and attempted to redeem my points for Cheryl's cookies.  Again, the same message appeared.  Has anyone experienced this problem, and how difficult will it be for me to successfully resolve this with AARP?  Thank you for any information you may provide.

At least they gave you a good certificate. I redeemed for the Calif Pizza Kitchen which they couldn't deliver. I spoke with rewards and they say they can't replace the lost redemption but did replace the 11,000 points. The points aren't important, I can get that back in a day and a half. They should be able to make corrections immediatly.

I actually suggested Cheryl's Cookies, but was very pleased to receive an Amazon card.

My issue has still not been resolved.  Very disappointing!

@TheresaR299197   It’s definitely been over the 10 working days.  What is the problem with why this takes so long?  And what exactly IS the problem?  Why? Is the question I want to know, why does it happen…And why does it takes this long to fix it?

I reported the issue on April 6th, and followed up with emails and phone calls.  The Escalation Department said that it is an IT problem and that it cannot be fixed, and my account will reset on May 1st.  A supervisor in Rewards indicated that the gift cards  are "an add on, not a benefit".  I have no idea how to even begin to interpret that statement.  The gift cards are a benefit of being an AARP member.  Period!  As the month is coming to a close shortly, I am not hopeful of a positive resolution, but will continue to pursue it.  The inability to address IT issues should not be an excuse to deny members of their monthly card redemptions.

My matter has been satisfactorily resolved!

Continue to follow up.  These cards are part of your benefits.  AARP escalation was kind enough to issue an Amazon gift card to me, representing my third and final card for this month.

Hi @TheresaR299197 ,

So the supervisor in Rewards said the Gift Cards are an “Add-On” ?   Then they need to change their info for what an add-on is, and what membership is.  That’s a cya answer if I ever heard one.

I went to the AARP site and this is what they call “add-ons”.  See screen below. (You can click the images and they open larger within the post here, not a link to something)

Then I looked at what was stated for what membership entails, and that screen is below.  Results show, from what I have read,  the rewards ARE part of membership as stated on their own website.

I agree.  The response from the Supervisor was totally absurd.

Yes agree, @TheresaR299197 .  Hang in there.

I am also having this issue. Transaction history says 2 redemptions with my first one being on 4-6. I did also try to get a card I have never gotten in the past & still the same message.

@KatrinaH24649 Did you contact AARP Yet? If not,  they’re not here on the weekend, so need to try Monday.

I am having the same issue.  I've only done 1 redemption this month.  Hopefully they fix this soon!

By chance, have you outright purchased any gift cards (not for points)?  Although that is irrelevant to the three card redemption limit, I am wondering whether this is causing a glitch on certain accounts.

I have reached out twice and have received the same response.  There is an issue they are working on and unable to say when it will be resolved.  I have only been able to redeem the one point based redemption early on in the month.  I have been able to purchase 3 of the deal of the day gift cards without any issue.  Hoping this will get fixed, but if not this month, next......

@TheresaR299197  Hi, I haven’t seen that happen , but maybe check your transaction dashboard., then click on your redemption tab.  It will list your redemptions by date.  See what you see there.  If you only see 2 redemptions for points for the month of April you can prove there’s a glitch.  CS can see it as well.

Be careful of using just the date - the new month starts at 9pm on the last day of the prior month on the west coast.  My extra credit GCs for April show a 3/31 posting date ... and yes, it allows me only 1 more redemption for April

Thank you for your kind response.  Yes, my transaction history reflects only two redemptions for April.  I reported the issue to AARP this morning, and was told that I would receive an email from AARP, within 10 days, as this matter is investigated.
