Shrimp Fried Rice most likely. No family, no large gatherings but I'm thankful to be alive.

Guess I'll just pretend that my fortune cookie is pumpkin flavored!   😊 Gobble, gobble!

It's nice to be important but it's more important to be nice.

Even though the juicy turkey is often the main attraction come Thanksgiving, everyone knows it's the side dishes that can make or break a Thanksgiving dinner. After all, there's really nothing better than loading up your plate with an endless amount of stuffing, potatoes, green bean casserole, and, of course, enough gravy to fill a kiddie pool. But a super runny gravy, dry stuffing, or mushy vegetables can put a damper on the feast you look forward to all year.

If you’re looking for some new Thanksgiving side dishes to add to your table this year, there are plenty of options to choose from. From sweet to savory, these recipes are sure to be instant crowd pleasers — heck, they might even steal the spotlight away from the turkey. And the best part of all? They can be whipped up ahead of time so that you'll have one or two less things to worry about on the big day.

Cornbread, Sausage, and Chestnut Stuffing, New Green Bean Casserole, Bread and Orange Stuffing, Brussels Sprouts and Squash Sauté, Orange-Cranberry Sauce,  Make-Ahead Turkey Gravy and so much more. So is anyone hungry yet???

What are your Thanksgiving favorites???

Turkey may take center stage on the traditional Thanksgiving table, but there are plenty of other options to serve as your main dish instead of, or in addition to, the traditional oven-roasted gobbler. If a turkey isn't your family's favorite or you just like a bigger spread with options for everyone, you're sure to find a festive recipe in our collection that will satisfy. Our recipes are organized by type of meat.

Prep ahead when you can and write down the oven requirements for each dish so you can cook two dishes at the same time or carefully schedule a day-long oven process to have everything ready for the big meal.

There are several other choices other than ham and turkey! Things like rock cornish hens, chicken, j standing rib, crown roasts and many types of pork roasts.

When you are or where invited to someone's house for Thanksgiving dinner and asked to bring a couple of appetizers what would you bring. Mary was always asked to bring her shrimp dip and salmon dip with Fritos scoops.

Here are several photos of different appetizers.

My Thanksgiving pie preference would be PUMPKIN PIE first--the whole thing.  Then I would definitely go for a Deep Dutch Apple Pie--just a slice or two.

Hahahaha Lydia!  The WHOLE THING?  And what?  No whipped cream?  Ahh..come on!

@DaveMcK , @LydiaN586309 ,

You guys know it's pumpkin for me. Second choice would be pecan. One year I found a recipe for chocolate pecan pie and it was even better...the chocolate seemd to cut the overboard sweetness of regular pecan pie.
