Good morning everyone on our Front Porch on this Thursday morning in December 2019! We are looking at a high temp of 38* and light snow in the afternoon.
Not much going on today. It was 18* for our friend Wayne's memorial service yesterday. The service was very nice and we went to the Military Honors ceremony at the cemetery afterwards. His grave site is very close to a local golf course that we played in a league on Mondays.
May everyone have a great day today!

Good afternoon to everyone on the Front Porch on this dreary, foggy, cold and rainy Monday! Hope everyone is having a better day weather wise. Busy week here with a retirees Holiday lunch tomorrow. Wednesday we will be going to a memorial service for a close friend who passed after battling cancer for years.
On the lighter side we will be going to a Holiday performances at a dinner theater Friday. Hoping everyone has a great week!

Morning Everybody!
It's overcast, but very light here. Cold, but warmer than it has been. Temp 31 degrees. In the past twenty four hours, we've had rain, high winds (had to really hold on to my steering wheel last night), and snow (this morning). Guess winter weather can't make up it's mind.
Finding myself inside more than outside. So I've been busying myself with household chores like dusting, cabinet organizing, cleaning out the fridge and the fireplace. Ad infinitum. By the time Spring rolls around, I won't have anything left to do! lol
Haven't had my daily dose of liquid energy yet. So I'm gonna get to it now.
May you all have the same.

Afternoon
Really hear you on the start of Winter still not until the 21st, today 47* and socked in with fog 10 foot visibility.
Tonight promises to be in the 20's, Kinda wondering if the rain will switch to snow, and join the 8" on ground.
My day off was nice yesterday, tomorrow back to testing, with a new wardrobe in my future.
Scarey when your only jacket that fits is a Nehru, circa 1968. Doubt if it would thrill business suit types at meetings, really don't think it would result in professional appearance.
Carpenter jeans really aren't making it at the moment. On that ramble I need to go off in search of something to graze upon.

Only need to find my souvenir bling from Saigon and mood ring to complete the ensemble.
Maybe the macrame vest (feels like body armor) all those knots.
But needs a cleaning from clubbing.

Okay, okay, okay!!! Boy oh boy, that camel is so loud!
Good morning, Porchers!
It "is" Hump Day and I am glad this week is moving along and at a speedy clip! I have been challenging myself to get at least one major household task done each day before heading off to work. So far....so good. I've definitely been a human dust buster and cobweb catcher. But my laborers are paying off.
Now, I must be the last one here to actually click the link to the story about the "banana-taped-to-the-wall" news story. I watched it today and I just cannot believe that anyone would pay $120,000.00 for a banana taped to a wall and have the nerve to call it ART!?! Has the world gone nuts or what? I'm just sitting here trying to figure out what I can tape to a wall and more importantly "which" wall, so I can make some big bucks. I'll even do a discount version of the banana for only $25,000.00 or best offer.
I think you could frame that Neru jacket, hang it in a gallery, and get a pretty penny for it. That's vintage and collectible to boot!
As for the new "performance art" piece involving that bunny rabbit and the carrot stick..... Well, somebody better keep an eye on that bunny, cuz we all know what happened to that poor, poor banana! Hasenpfeffer anyone? LOL
Anyway, for the past two days, it has spit snow off and on. But thankfully, not enough to stick and stay. So right now we have a temp of 24 degrees. Feels like 9 degrees. It's cloudy, but light. And the ground is dry...barren in fact. But I am snug like a bug in a rug--warm, sitting inside...looking out. Time for my second cuppa joe!
Take care all. And stay warm.

Hi, Folks,
Our rain eventually changed to snow over night and we woke up to some flakes falling and a coating on the ground. It's gone now thank goodness.
Doc visit went well yesterday...BP still too high, but only at the doctor's office. (White Coat Syndrome) Talked him into not adding more meds. He's retiring next June and I hate that. I have only been seeing him for about 3 years since his partner retired. We ended up talking about COFFEE! We both like dark roast.
So tomorrow my girl group goes to lunch at The William Penn Inn. I am so looking forward to our annual Christmas get-together. This place is just gorgeous any time, but especially at Christmas.
Enjoy Hump Day @LydiaN586309 !

Tomorrow the same, getting mildly cantankerous. Next week more tests, really want answers soon 16 months of this and now another year older.
Will attempt a call later tonight, after I hit a zen state?

@catwoman500 The William Penn Inn is beautiful. @Frozenoem You are good natured to feel only mildly cantankerous after all your tests. Of course I know you really have no choice and must keep going.
I am given to understand that nursing home wants to talk with me before releasing mom's companion. I believe the best course is to let them do the talking, I will learn more that way. She will be released the first week of January, provided no setbacks.

21* frosted windows but, looks sunny out.
Mildy because I didn't club anyone yesterday, waiting rooms clogged with sick people - imagine.
I'll be pleasantly surprised if I remain pneumonia free, wonder how long my shots last.
Time for breakfast, then back to happy land and restrictions. Extra battery packs for phone, darn near exhausted phone, yesterday.
Had 100% power when I went in, and 20% before I could escape to fresh air and non-coughers.

GREATINGS,
Just wanted to bring a new scam to your attention. Anyway, someone hacked my girlfriend's Facebook account. About 2 wks ago, I got a friend request on Facebook. I know the woman who friended me. We used to write grants together for a large Nonprofit. Agency. So this chat head appears with my friend's picture telling me about this great opportunity. She wants me to text(501) 625 9279, to get in on this great opportunity. Grant money. It took me a while to finally get in touch with her by phone. Just wanted to share this with you and give you a heads up
We have to make sure we are actually speaking with the people we think we are. This new scam is scary. Be careful and safe everyone

Me thinks gremlins are afoot 2nd attempt same message.
Afraid your friend could have fallen into the problem of one password or simple password use on FB.
Everybody use your smart phone to make 30-character password, or your antivirus and password manager to create a tough one immediately.
Set up 2-factor authentication on any/all accounts. Basically it will cover your posterior ends in the future if someone tries to take control or muck about with your accounts.
A text will be sent to your cellphone, asked for proof that was you requesting a change or attempting to change password, or email.
Least that's how it seems to work for most people. Have recovered accounts for friends sitting beside me, it's a pain.FB is a royal pain at times.
Now, I need to return to 🤮 contrast medium CT of yesterday has fried my innards, just wish to be flat.🤣

Good morning, Porch Peeplers!
Welcome to my world... Splash!!!! Glub, glub, glub!
Nothing like a big, hot cup of coffee to dive into on a cold and snowy Sunday morning. And that's exactly what we have here. 31 degrees right now. Feels like 21 they say. Medium size white flakes falling with some minor accumulation. I don't think it will last though. At least I hope.
Started loading up and lighting the fireplace early this morning before dawn. It was still dark outside when I opened the side door and stood there just breathing in the cold, crisp air in the dark. Wonderful way to start the day. The neighborhood streets were empty and quiet. Dark clouds moved silently overhead--moved by equally silent wind. Peace!
On Friday, I spent much of the day cleaning house for a disabled, semi shut-in, older friend of mine. Then on Saturday, I spent the day catching up on her laundry--five or six loads of washing, drying, and folding and then grocery shopping for her and a little for myself as well. But despite the work, we spent the better part of the day talking and laughing and enjoying each others company. It was nice.
But after the last couple of days, I plan on doing nothing more than resting, relaxing, grazing, napping, and keeping this fireplace going. Hope y'all can find that perfect spot to put your feet up and catch a snooze or two as well.
Have a...Lyds, The Napster

Hey, Peeps!
I'm trying to catch up with all your posts; I seem to have been running since Thursday and am finally taking a break.
@Frozenoem ...My BP has always been that way ever since they said I had high BP. Hoping when my doc retires next June, the new one doesn't go all kinds of crazy and try to change my meds. Sometimes at home I'm not sure I'm alive it's so low.
@LaDolceVita ...We had the most wonderful time at lunch on Thursday. Lovely atmosphere, great friends, and good food. Of course we had to stop in at Mrs. Penn's bake shop to pick up a few things to have on hand in our own homes. I bought a tin of Mrs. Penn's chocolate cashew chunk cookies and had to try one when I got home. OH WOW!
@LydiaN586309 ...Love the coffee diving! HA! I think we are getting your weather tomorrow. Just enough slippery stuff to keep me from my post office run problably.
Today was Santa on the fire engine coming through the neighborhoods handing out candy canes. Couldn't get a close shot of him, but at least I got something.
Need more coffee!
Have a good week!

@catwoman500, that's very cool the fire engine with Santa comes through the neighborhoods. I'm surprised I didn't see a bunch of kids (big and small). Does he stop at designated points? Or is he like the ice cream truck?

Yesterday was Wreaths Across America. I always sponsor wreaths and volunteer at the Quantico National Cemetery, because that's where hubby and Mom & Dad rest. About the time the ceremony started, the rains came. But raindrops on the face help when you're trying to hold it together during TAPS.
We observed the moment of silence held simultaneously at national cemeteries across the country. Wreaths were dedicated to the five branches of the military and the Merchant Marines. Our Congressman was there (the one I didn't vote for) and he gave a short speech. The lone bugler.
Then, it was to the trucks and laying wreaths. Rain. Shine. Cold. Warm. It's always an honor to take part and not only remember those we knew, but those we didn't. My husband lies in an older section, so I always take my wreaths there, not only for him, but his neighbors too, since sometimes there are not enough wreaths to cover all the graves and I want to make sure those who have lied there the longest are not forgotten, even though sometimes all of them don't always get a wreath.

Hi, Everyone,
They revised the forecast and I was able to get out and run my errands this AM. Post office was nutso and so was the liquor store. Snow due later, but hopefully not much.
Safe inside now with coffee of course.
@MsStretch ...Yes, Santa on the firetruck operates like the ice cream truck. They sound the siren and if the kids come out, they stop. They usually come the Sunday before Christmas; not sure why they came yesterday instead. They always have a police vehicle escort with them, too.
@Frozenoem ...looks like the 2 doctors that have joined the practice are young women. Never had a woman doctor, but I'm guessing I'll be handed over to one of them when my doc retires. I don't like changes, and the worst are a new doc and a new hairdresser! Thank goodness my hairdresser is a few years younger than I am.
Time to wrap some of this Christmas chaos that is spread all over the house.
Cheers!

Santa, came out fine, I zoomed on my phone. Your picture.
Always choose a younger Doctor than yourself.🤣 It's the ones that still look like they're 20 that scare me.
My old Doctor was strong on pushing brandy or whiskey for everything medicinal. Sometimes you just feel like Irish is called for. Surprised when he gave me script for pneumonia that was brandy, he could have had the right Idea he just turned 98, Present doc is 58.
And on that cheery need to play with firewood, bit of a nip to the air. Think we may get a storm, I hope! Disappointing looking at icy driveway after 36 hours of rain👎.

Pleasant winter weather here, high 40s to mid 50s during the day. I am quite happy at these temps. Tend to get more rest with the shorter days. I miss going to the homestead, have not been there since early August. Hopefully I can go in January on a nice warmish day.

Good morning everyone on this first Tuesday of December 2019! It's a cool morning here on our Front Porch. Hoping you all have a nice afternoon.
There are 23 days before Christmas. I have put up some of our out door decorations today! How about you?
The first Stratford Point Lighthouse was built in 1822. In 1855 a fifth order lens was added to the 28-foot (8.5 m) wooden tower. In 1881, the tower and dwelling were razed and replaced with a 35-foot (11 m) tall, brick lined cast-iron tower and equipped with a third order Fresnel lens. The light was automated in 1970 with a modern beacon. It is an active aid to navigation and is used for Coast Guard housing.
The lighthouse was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

Afternoon Thursday, 36* cloudy. Been busy playing pin cushion again.
As for decorating don't know, my wreath is coming the rest is missing. If it's in the attic it can remain up there.
So, I send you lobster traps instead from the coast.
For your constipated computer, clear cache and cookies. Run updates, run virus scan and just for giggles try an antimalware scan.
Your issues have me stumped. When in doubt - Scan! And reboot your router, pull the plug, count to 20 and plug it back in.

Greetings,
Frozen love the tree you shared. I find that to be better ART, then the banana I saw with duck tape, being sold for 120 K. If someone can help me out with posting a picture I would appreciate it. I think We could all use a Good Laugh.
Anyway just cold here in New Jersey. I am great full that the large tree on my front lawn is going to be removed. Shrewsbury TWP is responsible for the tree and making all the arrangements. Just waiting for better weather. I'm trying to turn the 🌲 into a wooden sculpture. Maybe I should just duck tape a banana on the tree.
Finally got over to the storage unit. I will be sending out Fun survival boxes. So sorry for the dely. I had some personal stuff to take care of first.
I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying your day.
Don't be surprised if you receive a duck taped banana in the box.

@catwoman500, @n566192l I do not get to see any news so that banana and tree is all new to me! I am still running myself ragged, taking care of a demanding invalid in a 2 story house is not really doable in the long run. I use the stair lift now, I did not for a long time because I did not want to give in or give up. As it is, sometimes she starts calling for me as soon as the stair lift lands on the 1st floor. That causes me to lose my cool and I try very hard not to show it. Should be able to find out soon if mom's friend will be able to return or not. Very close to 100 days in rehab at this point.
