Interesting Things We've Seen On The Internet
Good Morning To Everyone On The Front Porch On This Cold Thursday Morning December 17th, 2020!
As I'm sitting around our apartment on my cable I've seen some interesting things like beautiful creatures posted on the internet! It could be a tropical bird, a majestic animal, a waterfall in a remote part of Africa, a giant tree or the insect I've posted below.
I think that the Front Porch followers should be able to come up with several hundred photos by New Years Day! All you need to do is save the photo to your gallery and repost it here to this topic.
ENJOY AND HAVE A HAPPY, HEALTHY 2021!

News from my home town of Ripon, Wisconsin.
We’re thrilled to announce that Ripon Public Library will be one of the 1,280 Carnegie Libraries receiving a $10,000 gift from the Carnegie Corporation of New York, NY.
This gift honors the lasting legacy of Andrew Carnegie and the libraries he helped establish, as part of the Carnegie Corporation’s nationwide celebration of America’s 250th anniversary.
While Ripon Public Library’s history begins in 1880, it was in 1902 that a $12,000 grant from Andrew Carnegie helped fund the construction of Ripon’s standalone public library building. That building still stands downtown today, now home to the Ripon Chamber of Commerce and Ripon Main Street, Inc.
Though our library moved to our current location in 1972, we’re proud to continue our legacy as a Carnegie Library, and this generous gift will help us continue offering programs, services, and resources that enrich the community.
This library was built in my home town of Ripon., Wisconsin.
Do you have one built where you grew up?

Mount Rushmore is located in the Black Hills of South Dakota, near the town of Keystone. Specifically, it's within Mount Rushmore National Memorial. The memorial is about 23 miles southwest of Rapid City, South Dakota.
My folk's, sister and I visited here in the 1950s.
Majestic figures of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln, surrounded by the beauty of the Black Hills of South Dakota, tell the story of the birth, growth, development and preservation of this country. From the history of the first inhabitants to the diversity of America today, Mount Rushmore brings visitors face to face with the rich heritage we all share.
Old slide photo my dad took.

You can listen to the official audio for Gordon Lightfoot - "Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald" from the album 'Summertime Dream'. Lightfoot wrote "Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald" to commemorate the 29 lives lost in the sinking of the ore carrier SS Edmund Fitzgerald in Lake Superior on November 10, 1975. Just Google it.

Lake Erie, despite being the shallowest of the Great Lakes, holds a significant number of shipwrecks, with estimates ranging from 500 to 2,000. The shallow waters and propensity for strong storms have contributed to the high density of sunken vessels, many of which remain undiscovered.

Santísima Trinidad..
Spanish first-rate ship of the line with 112 guns. This was increased in 1795-96 to 130 guns by closing in the spar deck between the quarterdeck and forecastle, and to 136 guns around 1802 (plus 4 small guns on the poop), thus creating what was in effect a continuous fourth gundeck although the extra guns added were actually relatively small. She was the heaviest-armed ship in the world when rebuilt, and bore the most guns of any ship of the line outfitted in the Age of Sail.
