Constant Renewal mail

AARP constantly sending renewal mail is a pain and very wasteful! I have until12/31, and for you to continue to send out reminders is just ridiculous! Just stop it!

This has definitely been the last straw for us. Cancelling membership this week.

Hey @gs983 You can limit your advertising and opt out of things.  Go to the Privacy Hub and Your Privacy Choices at the bottom footer of the website.

You would think so - but other than stopping most correspondence, it doesn't seem that you can surgically choose to stop membership renewal notices and requests for you to sign up for automatic annual renewal.  I'm paid till 2033, and still get nagged about auto renewal.  It is annoying, and I've tried various forms of complaining.  I would think if people are paid more than a year into the future, they'd leave them alone, but no.  I even recently got a paper letter asking me to sign-up for auto annual renewal - that's just wasting money for someone paid till 2033.

Thank you for your membership, @pinecub. I can understand your frustration. AARP sends renewal notices to accounts that expire within 6 months and up to 3 months after expiration. To learn more about our renewal notices, check our article: https://aarp.info/3B7NaXe Also, I sent you a private message to adjust your mailing preferences. - Diana G.

about as bad as typical magazines that start billing you 6 months early

It’s a common marketing tool.  Opting out by contacting them is the way to solve it.

Hi, use the Contact Us page to let them know you want out of mailings.  They’ll be back during the week.  Otherwise a Mod drops in here from time to time.  Again weekdays.
