My only income is currently from Social Security and I have QMB to pay the Part B premium on my Medicare. I am a photographer and writer, though I have no income from either of these activities. I would "like" to pursue income from them, though, and I am concerned that my income from these activities may disqualify me from QMB.
I know that both the IRS and HUD recognize sporadic income and allow it without penalty, so I am wondering if Medicare might also allow sporadic income without it affecting my eligibility for QMB. I have not found any mention of this, either way, and this is why I am asking. It is impossible to find out online without resorting to calling someone at Medicare.
essentially, sporadic income is irregular income that is not fixed or reliable. Amounts vary widely and there may be months when there is no income at all.

You need to contact your state because they may have some info on annualizing the income rather than just saying a monthly amount. This link at Medicare.gov gives a state contact link for the state based Medicare Savings programs.
