Dental insurance, vision, etc.

We signed up for Medigap plan G. $293/month. Now we’re looking into dental and vision coverage. Dentegra is only available through Aspen Dental in our area, corporate dental outfit that doesn’t have a great reputation if you’re used to regular dental care from a private practice. Any thoughts on paying extra for Delta dental?

And vision care? My husband has early stage macular degeneration. Would this be considered a medical issue covered by United Healthcare?

With macular degeneration you need to call medicare and ask if it is covered (I am presuming it is as my mother has that and it is paid for). If medicare covers it/pays then your medigap G policy is required to cover it presuming the copays aren't during your deductible.
