If you're into romance and contemporary fiction, I'd highly recommend checking out Emily Henry's books. Her storytelling is captivating, and she has a way of creating characters and relationships that feel incredibly real. You can find some of her works on Bookworm Era's website, specifically in the Emily Henry books section. Here's the link: https://bookwormera.com/emily-henry-books/ So, whether you prefer the feel of a paperback or the convenience of digital formats, the most important thing is finding books that you truly enjoy and that take you on memorable journeys.

Hi Cameron, I agree with you. @CameronM962600 For me, I think having to hold a book & the scent of it may trigger fond memories of first visiting the library, as a child.
Although, I will check out an audio or ebook from Hoopla when my library has a waiting list for a particular book.

Hi @Winter2024
I enjoy using bookmarks, as well. My brother bought me an embroidered felt bookmark that holds the page from the corner. So pretty! Kind of makes closing the book, for the evening, less painful ๐

I like to read histories and biographies. I read a few books on Kindle, which was okay, but I really like to read from a real book in my hands. (I used to work for a publishing company, and digital books were just becoming a thing when I retired).
i like to read Dan Jones history books. He writes history that reads like a novel. Titles include The Plantagenets, Summer of Blood: Englandโs First Revolution, The War of the Roses, and Magna Carta, among others. Medieval history is fascinating.
Historical Biographies include The Medici by Paul Strathern, Alfred the Great by Justin Pollard, and Charlemagne by Derek Wilson. Itโs amazing how much Charlemagne and Alfred the Great had in common. King Alfred seemed to take several pages from Charlemagneโs play book.
Currently reading Machiavelli by Miles J Unger, and up next is Voltaire by Ian Davidson. Also on the list is The Borgias.
For lighter reading, I like Rock Biographies. My favorite autobiography is Magic Carpet Ride: The Story of John Kay and Steppenwolf. The story of how his mother brought him first out of Prussia, and then made a harrowing escape from East Germany when he was a young boy, is breathtaking. Other autobiographies include Keith Richards, Roger Daltrey, Pete Townshend, Ian Gillan, and Neil Diamond, plus an unauthorized biography on Ritchie Blackmore. All were fun and interesting reads.

How are you doing, @Winter2024 ????
As far as books are concerned, I am not too much for audio books. I would have trouble absorbing what someone is saying versus reading the same thing.
As books in general go, I love trivia books, biographies, and books related to the sciences, especially astrophysics.

I've always been a fan of science fiction but lately, I've listened to more fantasy. I switched to audiobooks during COVID (work from home) and have subscribed on and off to Audible. One of my favorites is The Scholomance trilogy by Naomi Novik which begins with A Deadly Education. Once I started reading Novik I found I enjoyed all of her books. As far as other authors, I've enjoyed the Dune series by Herbert, the Foundation series by Asimov, and many great books by Tolkien, Clarke, Heinlein, Silverberg, and Anthony. Audiobooks are my medium today but I have a shelf full of dusty paperbacks I've been accumulating since I was a teenager.

I finished The House Across the Lake by Riley Sager, Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus and The Lost Apothecary by Sarah Penner. Of the three, The Lost Apothecary was the best. I'm now reading The Escape Room by Megan Goldin. So far, it's really good!!
What's everyone else reading?
