Give a High Five to High Fiber Foods

When I heard the word 'fiber', I used to think 'boring taste.' But that was before I learned that foods like raspberries, avocados, artichokes, and sweet potatoes were on the list. For more great tasting, high-fiber foods, check out this video and then search on AARP® Staying Sharp®  for recipes with these ingredients. Have high-fiber day!

Hot oat bran cereal with 1/2 banana cut in small pieces added to it.  The banana adds sweetness, although you could also add 1 tsp honey and cinnamon.  Or use 1/2 apple instead of 1/2 banana.

Buy whole grain pancake and waffle or all-purpose baking mix. There are recipes for making healthy treats like cookies or fruit-n-nut bread, etc. Use olive oil or canola oil instead of butter if in the recipes. I like Kodak Cakes brand for mixes.
