FDA approves Moderna MRNA flu vaccine

The Food and Drug Administration on Wednesday approved the first mRNA flu vaccine, enabling use of a technology that will make it easier to rapidly target a widely prevalent or particularly virulent strain of the virus. The approval of the vaccine, called mFLUSIVA, which is manufactured by Moderna is gonna be available this fall and specifically for those 50 and over.

I am, NEXT month, my birthday month. Lol, easier to keep track of over the years. 👍

Usually get at CVS, but will use Kroger this time & in the future. Had changed pharmacies since getting one LAST year due to having to find another vehicle.

Lol, found one this May but NOW gas prices!!!😱 = staying with Kroger, CLOSER to my hill here in Virginia. But do miss my CVS Team of years. 😞

Of course and I also do September every year.   Now it is even more important with this new one since this new mRNA flu shot has the ability to cover whatever strain they find in the current year rather than like the older variety that relies on the strains from the prior year (in Africa). 

The NPR link said that they are getting this vaccine out to major retailers now - so it should be available next month at least at the major retailers.  That is why they are only covering the 50+ crowd now - so that they have enough for the demand (hopefully the demand is great) for specifically this group.
