It has been 2 years now since mom left to join family. When my brother and I got word it was a shock because we were told she had Dementia and that it would take a long time. Since I lived with mom and my brother lived out of state I was prepared for the long, worrying process and we were preparing for her to go into an Assisted Living Facility. On January 16th, 2021 she had just come home from a short stay at a rehab and seemed to be fine that morning. I left for work and the ladies who lived downstairs from us would check in on mom. When my brother called that afternoon he called me immediately and said "You need to get home now. I just talked with mom and she said that she hadn't eaten in 4 days and she was thirsty because she hadn't had anything to drink in 6 days and the nurse hadn't come by in 1 month." I left work and hurried home to find my mother on the floor with food and drink spilled everywhere. I called the EMT's and her doctor. The EMT's were familiar with the case and said "Something is not right. She needs a Brain Scan." That evening I got the devastating call. The neurosurgeon said "Mother has a Brain Tumor, it has been growing for years and she only has a short time." The Brain Tumor had taken over the left side completely and most of the right side. She passed on February 6th, 2021. I posted this information on Facebook and LinkedIn. After the posting I had over 1000 responses to say "I am sorry for your loss and Thank You for the warning." I saved over 1000 people from going through the same thing. Brain Tumor verses Dementia. People took the family members for a brain scan and found the same thing in their family members. NOT DEMENTIA BUT A BRAIN TUMOR! It has been so hard but I am trying to deal.
