Tort Reform

Good Afternoon:

I would like  AARP to write an article on Tort Reform.   Has it helped the American people? Or has it helped the hospitals & physicians with less lawsuits?.  Did you know medical errors are #3 leading cause of death to the citizens of the United States? The AMA brags about there are less lawsuits; it isn't because of less mistakes. It is because the mal-practice attorneys DO NOT have the time to conduct their investigations. Did you know, each state decides the time frame to file and a cap on how much you can sue for medical errors? In some states, if it is a public institution, the filing for mal-practice suit is less.

This bill that was signed by President George Bush back in 2003 only benefits the hospitals and physicians. NOT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.
I would suggest that all Americans do their research on the state where they live and the hospital where the surgery might take place.
