AARP Eye Center
I live in a 55+ community, where many of us don't have family living nearby. When we have a short-term issue like a surgery or a fall with injury where we need a little helping hand, we don't have anyone to call for a bit of general help or even TLC. We want to form a group in our community to address this need--ie, a group that puts out a notice when someone is in need, that can step in with a warm meal, a ride to a doctor's appointment, even taking your pet temporarily if needed. Anybody have any input on this? I can't believe we are the only ones facing this isolation in retirement. Thanks!
Hi, Carol! Have you checked out nextdoor.com? We've been using it to share exactly as you've indicated for a few years now and it works great.
You can identify your area/residence and require approval for who joins then only those can post, so very private.
Aside from that, a private web site is the next solution.
