Thank you for reaching out, @rbmcc. You can delete messages one at a time as you read them, or in bulk from your Inbox. Here's how:
*Click the message count or envelope icon to go to your Private Messages Inbox.
*To delete a single message, click the message to view it and then click Delete.
*To delete all messages, click the Options menu and click Delete All.

I'm sorry to hear the messages aren't opening for you. You may have to clear cookies and update your browser. Here are the steps if needed: https://aarp.info/2I3wo4C - Diana G.
I'm using Firefox 134 which is up to date. I have cleared cookies and cache. Windows 10 is up to date. Block popup windows is turned off. No change, still won't open mail in inbox.
Accessed AARP via Samsung Internet on a tablet running Android. Everything current. Mail won't open here either.
I believe something is wrong on your end.

When I went to set up Private Messaging the tabs necessary to do so did not load. Therefore I can't message you. A review of various available comments reveals that AARP has had the identical "Opening Mail" and "Private Messaging" problems before.
Can you handle or should I try either Chat or a phone call? Can I reach you via either one? Do I have to? Which method to try first.?
It appears that these have been ongoing problems that have yet to be fixed.

recently on another rant I asked about this. was told I can only delete messages through the app. I don't have an app and I don't have a smartphone. Why should I be penalized in deciding what messages if any I want to keep or delete? Who died in AARP land and decided if we don't use an app we are fresh out of luck?
