Download AARP Magazine & Bulletin for offline reading on a computer

Is there a way to download the AARP Magazine and AARP Bulletin for offline reading on a computer? I have downloaded them on my smartphone and someday I may actually find where they were downloaded to and what format they were downloaded in (PDF, etc.).

If there is a way to download to a computer, is there a way to stop the paper delivery so there would be no need to recycle them?

Thanks in advance for any assistance. 🙄

TO DOWNLOAD:  Click on one of these links for the bulletin or magazine.  Then click on VIEW MAGAZINE to open the PDF version in a browser.  Then you can download.  Works for me on a PC with Chrome browser.

This is a horrible change. I preferred reading from the PDFs. Now I cannot see the additional advertisements on the online version nor is it accommodating to my vision issues. It makes my brain hurt. Please allow PDFs for those of us that prefer to visually enjoy this publication.

The link for downloading the magazine no longer appears to work. It only lets you read it online.

The link for downloading the bulletin does not show the July-Aug 2024 edition. The latest online is June.

The AARP "App" is horrible. Gets a low rating-it deserves...when log in-am told to get a verification code sent to a landline-how stupid is that? And the App wants me to change my password....again stupid....AARP: one step forward (Sr Planet) two step back (the "App").

Hello @frugal2008, I'm deeply sorry to hear about the frustration our AARP app has caused you.  We're always looking for ways to improve your online security. If you use My Account on http://aarp.org?cmp=SNO-LITHIUM---&socialid=14832990895 or AARP Rewards, you will be prompted to secure your account by verifying your phone number. You can receive a phone call or text with a code to verify your information. However, the app only offers the option to receive a text via your mobile number. Here is a helpful article with more information about it: https://aarp.info/3imfywq. We appreciate your feedback, as we are always looking for ways to improve what we offer to our members. - Daniela R.

There appear to be MANY who would like a PDF copy of the publication....why is this not happening.

AARP isn’t interested in the needs of its members. I want the pdf version also. Much easier to read. Don’t hold your breath.

I don't know why you can't provide both formats. There is so much more you can do with the PDF versions. For one you can download it to many different devices with larger screens, than what an app provides. I have always read and saved each issue on my Kindel Scribe or my 14' pad, but now I can't do that. It would be very helpful to keep the PDF format.

Yes I have the app and I can read them that way, even though I prefer to read with a bigger screen than my cell phone. Why can't that access like the old pdf 's still be available though? Your new way is much less user friendly and if I wish to save an article much less user friendly. Progress I guess.

Also I don't want to have to learn yet another interface.  I read ALL my newspapers and magazines in PDF format.

@ta3254 I understand what you're saying. Have you had an opportunity to click the links in the help article to view the publication issues online? While we no longer have the PDF formats available, the publications can be opened in a web browser window on your PC or other device. You can go to aarp.org/magazine or aarp.org/bulletin to select a publication to view. If you wish to save a publication, you could bookmark the link and save it to your browser.  - Janelle M.

PLEASE MAKE THE PDF VERSIONS AVAILABLE AGAIN !!!!!

Periodic Contributor

The online version you've provided is nice but I would still prefer the PDF version to download.  It is MUCH easier and faster for me to read the PDF version using the familiar Acrobat interface.  I don't need to learn yet another interface.  Please provide the PDF versions to us again.  Shouldn't companies should be providing what their customers want, not what they think is best.

The PDF version isn’t for the convenience of the team at AARP.  It’s for the convenience of the members. PDF is a standard format that lets us read on the device and with the application WE choose. Team hubris thinking that they know better than us how we should read the magazine and bulletin is not appropriate or appreciated.

Periodic Contributor

Couldn’t agree more.

Good question! Usually if it ain't broke don't fix it. AARP did not get that memo.

Unfortunately only go back 1 year, it would beat clipping copying or scanning, from the issues I have before i found this feature.

Clutter I don't need either, I'm just becoming too lazy to stop the mail version, Ill have to figure that out someday.

Always asks for my phone # when I log in here.

@VictorTango76  Thank you for being a member! I invite you to visit AARP The Magazine at aarpmagazine.org or AARP Bulletin at bulletin.aarp.org to view published content online.

I was also able to stop delivery of your AARP Bulletin and AARP Magazine and they will stop being delivered to you within 4-6 weeks due to pre-printed mailing labels.

@Tempest332 Are you using the app or the website? The issues on the Publications app go back to 2018. Check out the app here: https://www.aarp.org/publications-app/  Also, if you're looking for something specific, you might be able to find references to popular articles by searching the press center at press.aarp.org. I'm always here to help!

Website is no longer working for either viewing or downloading current or past issues, page appears to be "ghosted" out with a cheerio circle rotating in the center of the screen, like not loading up... can see the page, just ghosted dark & not clickable.

Been like this for several weeks at least now.

Edit:  It works in MS Edge, but not in Chrome.
