Swipe City FAQ

What is Swipe City?

Swipe City is a match 3 game with a little extra twist: instead of switching the position of tiles to match 3 in a row, every tile in Swipe City moves freely across the grid. When you swipe a tile, it will move in that direction until it hits a wall or another tile.

What is the goal of the game?

The goal of the game is similar to other match 3 games – match tiles by placing them next to each other and removing them from the board!

When do I beat a level?
Each level has goals: the number of each type of tile that needs to be removed from the board. That could be three or more. Match that number of tiles together – you don’t need to do it all at once – and you’ll move on to the next level.

How do I play once I begin a level?

All you need to do to play is start swiping! Choose a tile and swipe (on mobile or table) or click and drag (on desktop) to send it careening across the board until it hits a wall or another tile. Keep swiping to make your matches.

How do I get three stars?

In Swipe City, the best grade for a completed level is three stars. You can also get two or one star. The stars you get are tied to the time it takes to complete the level. While playing, keep an eye on the green bar at the top of the screen. It will deplete over time. Once enough time passes that the bar moves past the first star, if you finish the puzzle you’ll get two stars instead of three, and so on.

Can I lose?

Yes. If you quit a level midway through, you’ll lose a life. You’ll also lose a life for running out of time, which is shown at the top of the screen. Keep in mind that you can use coins to buy extra time once you run out!

What happens when I lose a heart?

You get five lives, or hearts. If you quit a level midway through or run out of time, you’ll lose one. You can continue from there as long as you heave hearts available.

How do I get more hearts?

Hearts regenerate over time. You can also buy them for 90 coins each.

How I get coins?

You get coins by beating levels, or by using the daily spin.

What’s the daily spin?

On the main menu screen of the game, there is a wheel icon. You can click this and watch an ad to spin the wheel to get a random prize like coins, lives (including a half hour of infinite lives!), or hints. You can watch an ad to access more spins after your free daily spin.

What are hints?

The hint button is in the bottom right corner of the screen. Hit it and you’ll be shown how to solve the puzzle. Click or tap the screen to return to your board state, and then make your moves! Keep in mind that you have a finite number of hints – the number you have left is shown on the icon.

Are there additional mechanics in the game besides sliding tiles?

Yes. As you beat more levels, the game will introduce additional tiles, tiles in cages, arrows that automatically move tiles around, and much more.

How can I quit or restart a level?

While playing a level, click the gear icon in the bottom left of the screen. From there, you can click the green button to restart the level or the red button to go back to the main screen.

Can I turn off the sound and music in Swipe City?

Yes. Click the gear icon at the top of the screen (in the main menu) or bottom of the screen (in a level) and you can toggle sound and music on and off.
