WHY so many issues with earning points?

Do any of your AARP staff ever actually play the videos and try to answer the surveys? If you did, you would experience the same issues that your members experience on a daily basis. Surveys that are blank when you click on them. Having to return to the START page every time you use the back button. Videos that refuse to load and freeze the screen with the endless red revolving circle. Having to log in repeatedly during a session (I had to log in no less than 10 times this morning!). Bottom line... Your website is extremely problematic! Maybe you need to replace your IT staff with MORE CAPABLE individuals?

I don't know if this is the lastest thread concerning problems earning points because I'm having trouble accessing the community - I got 'here' by Googling 'trouble earning AARP game points'.

I have reported various problems before and now I have one that I noticed in late May and is still occurring as of today, Saturday, June 7, 2025 - a large majority of the quizes/videos are checked as if I have already done them even when I positively know that I haven't attempted them in June.  Anyone else having a similar problem and know a solution?

And, I have noticed that any video where the progress line that moves from left to right showing progress through the video is red will not give me a check that I have watched it.  Only ones whee the line is blue will give me a check.  tia   Dolores

I can understand your concern, @RCANDDR.  The AARP Rewards site was unavailable on Saturday, June 7th, for scheduled maintenance. If you're still experiencing issues, please reach out in a private message. Thank you. - Diana G.

I enjoy answering the surveys.  I watch certain videos.  I do this all the time.  Beginning today it looks like I will not be getting the extra points.  So, it is only showing 300 pts for a survey.  How long will this go on?  Years ago I would periodically actually win a prize.  It hasn't happened in a long time, but I kept doing the work to get points to try.  Maybe I should throw in the towel.  I wonder if anyone knows how long this problem will last.....

Hi debiva. I'm sorry to hear the wrong point amount is showing for the activities. Can you send us a private message with your name and mailing address, so we can check your AARP Rewards account to see why it's show the wrong amounts? Visit https://aarp.info/47hWcl7 for directions on how to enable private messages. - Brandon C.

I just logged in and it shows me the nonmember point values for activities.  This happened yesterday, too.  However, the correct amount of points were rewarded.

Try Refreshing the page - it has been happening to me as of a few weeks ago.  You still get the appropriate number of points.

cmulinix We are temporarily experiencing a display issue. The point value for completing the activity is incorrectly showing the non-member point value on the Earn Points page. Rest assured, the earning value has not changed. When you complete the activity, you will receive the correct member points. We apologize for any confusion this may have caused. - Christy C.

Confirmed; yesterday I was logged in and saw big red banner to 'log in and refresh' and saw the entire earning section was fitted for non-members at 200/ 300 rate; nevertheless I continued earning at the correct 300/ 450 rate. A little later I did log out and re-logged in to the regular Earning field of 300/450.

And it's happening just now for this session... again.

It looks like another 'viral glitch' is spread.

This is happening to me today.

Thank you!  I tried taking a few quizzes and that is what happened!  I was credited with the correct number of points.  I feel better about the situation and hate I complained!

Never, Never regret complaining when you see something wrong. SEE SOMETHING SAY SOMETHING.

Thatโ€™s not complaining itโ€™s bringing the problem into the light where it will hopefully be addressed.

While I never regret complaining when you see something wrong, I found that I have wasted a whole lot of time and effort (I am a retired Senior Applications Specialist) documetning, albeit only about 50% of the earn activities, the plethora of isues that plague this site.

So far, no response or fixes for months now by AARP.

@AARPConsumerCare   Today there are no moving letters to enable logins.

My name and total points show at the top of the screen but it is demanding yet another login.  Did login once already today but after watching a video, cannot log in again without the moving letters.

Super Contributor

I had that happen to me once.  No moving letters to log in.  As I remember, I could log in later with magically reappearing moving letters.
