National parks top the list of places to visit during the summer. But taking a trip in the springtime allows you to witness spectacular wildflowers. Planning is key for viewing blooms at their prime. โWildflower displays vary every year in every park,โ says Sue Fritzke, retired superintendent at Capitol Reef National Park and a member of The Coalition to Protect Americaโs National Parks. โWhat they might see in photographs of a park one year may look very different in another year.โ Come with an open mind, she adds.
And do your research. โChecking park websites, social media updates, and wildflower reports can help visitors catch peak bloom,โ says Natalie Lambert, communications coordinator for the National Park Trust. โBloom times can vary by region, elevation, and yearly weather conditions.โ According to AARPโs 2025 Travel Trends survey, 70 percent of Americans 50-plus plan to travel this year and plan to take an average of 3.6 trips. Older adults 50 to 69 said they are more intent on planning a domestic trip than those 70 and older.
Visit these six national parks for stunning wildflowers this spring.

Ours bloomed very early since it got warm too fast here this year. I do love them too - my locality use to have a very big Japanese influence before their economy tanked in the early 90โs - we still have tons of cherry trees - as well as redbuds -
Your climate is probably much better for the cherry trees.
@GailL1 , I have a few here on the side of my hill. And lots on my drives to do errands. I hope humans DO NOT overbuild the area as so many have already. Lots of open land here, but noticing For Sale signs. ๐ญ
Oh well, sign of the times I guess.
Take care,

Affordable (?) Housing has to go somewhere and that somewhere is usually where land prices are lower. I am still grateful for my WaterShed protection area - it is like time stood still at 1985 - everybody has to have at least 3acres to build a home, no commercial development including apartments.
I donโt have any people problems - I have a bit of wildlife problems - deer, beavers, armadillos, possums and the very worse - SQUIRRELS -
