Videos not playing when the mouse is outside the window (please remove that ridiculous restriction)

When you watch videos to earn rewards, the mouse has to stay in focus within the window, or it'll stop playing. I would like an option to turn that off, so I could paint digitally while listening to the video.

Right now, as soon as I paint, the video stops and I have to click back in it for it to continue, which means I cannot paint.

It's 2026, people are capable of multitasking and should not be forced to leave their mouse in the window to earn points.

Please remove it. If you don't want to advertise it per se, leave it on but at least make it an option to turn it off in the preferences for those of us who really want to do something else while watching the videos (maybe in the RMB player option?)

*** Have you considered that - MAYBE - people aren't watching as many videos as you'd like because of this restriction? and they'd rather forego watching any videos than being forced to do nothing while watching? (since you can't move the mouse outside that player window ***

Seriously, all I want to do is paint, digitally, while watching. Not asking for the moon.

Many thanks in advance, though I'm not holding my breath, the little I have left...

@tegehel

Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback โ€” I really appreciate you explaining how this impacts your experience.

I understand how frustrating it can feel, especially if youโ€™d prefer to listen to a video while doing something else, like digital painting. Multitasking is definitely part of how many of us use online content today.

The current playback behavior is tied to how the Rewards video experience is designed and how engagement is verified for points eligibility. It isnโ€™t something we can adjust on an individual preference level, but I absolutely hear your request for more flexibility and an optional setting.

Iโ€™ll be sure to pass your feedback along to the appropriate team for review. Member input like this is helpful when we evaluate future improvements โ€” including how the experience may affect video participation.

Thanks again for sharing your perspective.

Thank you, I appreciate you passing it forward. I understand the engagement part, but the present solution is so drastic that one can't do anything else. I hope they can find some other way to allow us to do both without abuse (a timer? or maybe you get the reward at the end only if you click back in the video, meaning you physically need to be present to get the reward, but aren't "locked" in (actually, I kinda like that idea - it's not locking us in, but also requires us to be there to get the reward. Best of both worlds).

Best Regards.
