Unable to purchase AARP Gift Cards since January 2025

AARP Help Center,

 

I have been unable to purchase any AARP discounted gift cards since January 2025.  I have called AARP support 6 or more times already, but the issue was not resolved.  I went through numerous iterations with both AARP and AARP Rewards customer support to eliminate any possible causes on my end, including: 1) checked my browser, 2) edited my credit card to match the exact name on the credit card, 3) removed VPN, and more. Nothing worked.  Yet my husband used the exact same computer, browser, and credit card to purchase gift card on his account, and his request was successful.   I'm exhausted and want this issue resolved! Please help!

Thank you very much for your prompt response!

I went to community.aarp.org/My Settings/Preferences/ to enable and turn on “Private Message” tab.  However, the “Private Message” tab was missing from the Preference Options menu.  I reached out to AARP Web team for support, and their escalation ticket is estimated to be resolved within 5-10 days.  I will follow up with you regarding my purchase of AARP gift cards when this web issue is resolved.  Thank You!

Diana....did this issue ever get resolved for you???  I am dealing with this recently as well, after I bought NUMEROUS gift cards from them in the past.

📎  Diana @DianaS566570 , I "may" be WRONG, but you CANNOT use the SAME Credit Card on YOUR account that your husband used on HIS account but I will let AARP @AARPConsumerCare respond.

We also repeated this experiment with a different credit card.  It will work for his account, but not for mine.  I received the exact same error.  Something is definitely wrong with my AARP Rewards account.

Me too Diana.  It's like they put a block on us.  Did they ever correct your issue?

I am having the exact same issue recently.  And I have bought NUMEROUS gift cards from AARP.  Mind boggling to say the least.
