If I already have an existing membership and it is due to renew, can I use the AARP Discount on my existing membership or will I need to cancel it and start a new membership to et the 40% off?

thank you for your help!

Hi MargieSeel. Are you referring to our Walmart+ discount? AARP members can save $40.00 off their Walmart+ subscription. New and existing Walmart+ subscribers can sign up for the discount. Visit https://aarp.info/3V4d5LK to learn how to sign up. Thanks for being a member! - Brandon C.

I believe The subject line reads 'Sam's membership Discount' - I am seeing the same thing as Brandon.

When attempting to click on the $40 off Sam's Plus Membership - it just takes me to my Sam's membership page - but doen't show where I can apply the AARP Discount

Hi @Carvit, at this moment, we do not have a discount for a Sam's membership: https://www.aarp.org/membership/benefits/all-offers-a-z/?cmp=SNO-LITHIUM---&socialid=17199533315 Can we get more details about how you heard about it? - Diana G.

The AARP website says "Customers ages 50 & older can get a 60 percent discount off membership at Sam's Club".

Do you have a link to where you saw this?  This sound more like what one of those websites that purport to list senior discounts would say, not what AARP would say.  AARP would most likely say "AARP members," not "customers age 50 & older."

Take the advice of the "Community Concierge" and go to Sam's Club's website to see the senior discount (along with discounts for college graduates, college students, teachers, government employees--all kinds of people).  But be aware that it's for new members only (not a member in the previous six months), and you have to go through ID.me to get the discount, and I don't know what that's all about--it'll know if you're "a graduate from an accredited, government-recognized, public or private university or college that grants degrees or certificates"?

ETA:  Here's the Sam's Club link for senior discounts:

SaraP619923 Thanks for sharing. While Sam's Club may offer a discounted membership to seniors, this offer is not affiliated with AARP. To check on these savings, it would be best to reach out to Sam's Club directly. - Christy C.
