Hartford Insurance Quote

Received a flyer in the mail concerning Hartford Insur. So, I think I have not quoted my Auto Insur

in a few years. Time to do it. Now on the front of the flyer it listed four insur co's., that people say hartford is less for each amt., by the co's. I looked at that as B.S. out of the gate. Like a Liberty Mutual ad. So I have my policy in front of me with my insurance co and I call. She ask basic question then she asked if I would like to be monitored for my driving habits and over time your insurance can go down if your habits are law abiding. I laughed. First, I don't look for anyone to control my life or monitor me; Secondly, that's Orwellian. Not interested and that should be illegal. Not getting off to a good start. So, she finishes. I have paid in full 2017 Toyota Avalon and a 2023 Toyota Camry TRD. Our driving record is impecable, and we are both retired and luck if we put 14K miles/yr  on the cars total. We rent a vehicle when we travel. She quote for 6 mos.$1220.00 I almost fell out of bed! I go $2440/year!!!! I say somebody is stealing this kind of money. Someone is on the take. I currently, pay $1355.60/year. I say if the flyer is correct than Allstate, State Farm, Geico and Progressive must be well over your quote, because we are the ideal customer. This is just one more thing that has created the inflation issue in this country. They can have high rates because there is no one to control them. It's post like mine that should go viral and people reject companies like these. I'd hate to see what my insurance would be if I had a DUI and traffic violations.

I just called for a quote (free overnight duffel bag) and the same coverage I have now was twice what I pay!!  I cannot believe that AARP would allow the stats they show.  I really have to say, I lost all confidence and respect for AARP.  I never had a ticket or accident.  Yes I am a senior (67) not 105!

Years ago I went to them for a quote. They picked up on an old ticket that I had forgot about. They didn't even give me a quote, just said couldn't insure me. 

Last year I did like you and looked at different companies. To my surprise my insurance was cut in half. Not like you I let them monitor my driving and my premium went down after 6 months. 

Just because these companies advertise on here doesn't mean they are the best for seniors. Getting a discount at a restaurant is one thing but when it comes to renting cars and staying a week in a motel, I found that being a member with Avis and Best Western is a lot better that anything AARP has.
