AARP Eye Center
It is promoted with AARP that Goodwill honors a 10% discount on Tuesday and other days of the week. Here in North Carolina, they do not. In fact I shopped a a Goodwill in Moorsville NC on Williamson Street today, and they give no discounts at all. Apparently AARP and Goodwilll are not in sync. Is there any way to fix this? Goodwill will not give seniors or veterans a 10% discount. It's appalling. I have shopped at Goodwill in other states and they have always honored seniors and vets. However they will not be shy about asking to round up the total on your purchase. I have also notice their prices are not consistent. Why is there a pair a shoes where the asking price is $30 even have a place at Goodwill? It's not Macy's! I'm disgusted . I hope there is a way to fix the problem.
@MichaelS698994 Hi Michael, I appreciate you taking the time to reach out. Goodwill does not participate in the official AARP discount; however, I understand that some locations may offer an AARP discount on their senior discount days. We recommend that you reach out to Goodwill for assistance with your concern. A complete list of AARP membership discounts and benefits can be found on our site here: https://www.aarp.org/membership/benefits/all-offers-a-z/
Ask for the home office number or see if you can google it and complain..I know that its competetor Salvation Army does have varied prices depending of the original cost of some items like a pair of $200. shoes might be higher than the run of the mill types...At one time I worked for Goodwill industries and we had a price list of what each type of clothing went for..times evidently have changed ...Your option is do not go there and look to other thrift stores where prices are competive...
