Cannot complete verification on OptumRX home delivery signup for the AARP prescription discount card

My husband and I got our discount cards and found that the best pricing was with the OptumRx home delivery when we search drug pricing so we clicked the button to signup.  We were able to complete the AARP Verification form and the HealthSafe ID Let's Get Started form as well as the verification codes sent to email and text.  It's the Identification number (AARP member ID) that returns an unable to verify message on the HealthSafe ID pages.  I verified that my name, birthdate and AARP member ID on the HeatthSafe ID form matches my AARP account.  If I skip the verification, I get a different form that still will not accept my AARP member number as the identification number.  I have no access to order an OptumRX home delivery.  I received no help when I called the phone number for setting up home delivery either.  Do members have this benefit or not?

I had the same problem with initial sign-up.  I spent 2 months talking to OptumRx, Optum, United Healthcare and AARP benefits.  They eventually fixed the website. It seems OptumRx didn’t recognize the AARP membership number.  It should work now.  However, if like me, you are trying to use the AARP discount for home delivery as advertised all over the AARP website and promotions, it will only work if you have United Healthcare as your insurance.  The AARP description stating you don’t need insurance only applies if you use the card like other discount cards for walk in pharmacies.  OptumRx and AARP are no help and don’t understand the problem and have yet to update the FAQs and descriptions for the mail order section.  It’s a shame, I could have save $250/yr on my meds but I have Anthem BCBS and OptumRx doesn’t work with them.  Also BCBS uses Carelon for home delivery and won’t honor OptumRX AARP discount.  Hopefully AARP does the right thing and add this important detail to the benefit description pages.

to set up Optum home delivery, be sure to give them all the info on your AARP prescription discount card.  bin, pcn, grp, .  That gets the home delivery agents more to get stated
