But, I frankly don't understand them.  I succeeded by trial and error.  I think it will work if you just copy and paste these lines in My Filters:

Although uBlock Origin is available for Microsoft Edge, it doesn't work right with Edge.  As far as I know, it only works right for Chrome and Firefox.  I am using Firefox 64.0.2 as I write this.

Still, a grey band sporadically appears. I added one more line to My Filters to get rid of it:

community.aarp.org##.aarpe-ad-wrapper

community.aarp.org##.full-width.wrap

community.aarp.org###siteBannerText

community.aarp.org##.affix-top.navbar.everywhere-header

community.aarp.org##.affix.navbar.everywhere-header

Even Better After:

Put the following lines in My Filters:

community.aarp.org##.aarpe-ad-wrapper

community.aarp.org##.full-width.wrap

community.aarp.org###siteBannerText

community.aarp.org##.affix-top.navbar.everywhere-header

Am soo glad to be rid of that pesky , bouncing upand down red banner!!

AND - while I was in the process of getting rid of it - I discovered an unwanted extention that had snuck in,, so I removed it too.  It was called FromDocToPDF.

This page is soo much cleaner and easier to read now!!

Thanks Again, Aruzinsky  Smiley Happy

It's in the directions:

https://www.ghacks.net/2017/02/21/ublock-origin-how-to-remove-any-element-from-a-page-permanently/

Instead of reading the whole thiing, search for the word "filter" using your browser's search function, Crl + F.

In case you don't know it, you need to downoad and install UBlock and UBlock Origin (for Chrome) for free here:

To our Online Community Members,

We wanted to let you know that our Community Guidelines and Terms of Service have been updated. The changes are intended to foster more civil discussions in AARP’s online communities. The issues discussed in these communities – including healthcare, retirement and politics – are serious and stir up strong emotions. We should have spirited debates about all of them, but those debates should always be respectful, on topic and fact based. We will be applying these standards in our online communities as we work together, with all of you, to address the challenges that face older Americans. Thank you.
