๐Ÿ‘ Staples eGiftcards!!!

[Thursday 5/28/26]

I figured since we usually have "issues" with the AARP Rewards Program - I would post a HUGE thank you!!!

(1) Had been holding onto my four $5 Staples giftcards.

(2) Decided TODAY was the day to "try" the system with MULTIPLE giftcards for ONE PURCHASE. Never used these AARP giftcards in a store &  NEVER "shopped" at Staples. TOO EXPENSIVE for my Retirement Budget. ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

(3) I had "printed" them out at the library YESTERDAY as I DONOT have a printer or access to one. Ten cents a copy, can't beat that.

(4) BLACKED OUT the "pin" numbers on printouts.

(5) Cashier had NO idea how to process them but thankfully her boss happen to be up front. He showed her how to SCAN them in. I then SAW there was a $1.57 balance AFTER two were scanned. Asked him IF I needed to pay that in CASH as I wanted to hang on to the 3rd printout. He said, nope & told cashier to SCAN, then write BALANCE on printout and return to me.

*** SUGGESTION - Try to go when EVERYONE is at work "if possible". I got there about 10:30am ET and had "only" ONE man behind me. Was VERY NICE when I told him sorry for "holding" up the line & I was using my AARP giftcards. Responded - Good for you!!!

Hi Nicole

call me dumb but your #4, why black out the pin # they donโ€™t need it if they scan the bar code. You were lucky that the manager was there but if he was not then I still say write the gift card ID# in large print, in the credit card format ie:

4567 8888 3456 2343 makes it so much easier for the cashier and the folks inline.

I had the left over $ balance happen to me also @ DSW and the cashier knew exactly what to do and wrote in the $ balance left on my printed copy.
easy peesy

Hi Lucy @rednexsrus , thanks - will do that next time.

With pin numbers, force of habit & I had them with me in case Cashier needed them. Her boss said, nope - not needed.

It is wonderful that it worked out good for you.  Isn't it nice to walk out of a store with merchandise and you didn't pay anything for it?  And you didn't shoplife it either? Ha Ha!
