We went to Fort Walton Beach Florida last week and I highly recommend it. The international Seashore at Ookaloosa Island national Park is wonderful for people who are elderly or disabled or anyone with kids. Once you get to the beach,it is easy to get into the water and there are no waves to knock you down. You can have shallow water or go swim out to deeper water. They do have restrooms to change in as well as a shower to wash off with. No fee is required. This area is so close to so many fun things and there are restaurants that will suit everyone.Close to Eglin Air Force Base and their free Armament Museum ,where you can see all kinds of planes and helicopters that are used by the military. And it is close to Navarre and Niceville, where you can enjoy a beautiful walk at the Turkey Creek Park. And if you love swimming in beautiful springs, you are very close to Ponce de León Springs and Morrison Springs!

This summer I'm going to get my feet in the ocean at least once a week. I want to go swimming as much as possible too. I can't wait to spend time there with my first grandchild. He is going to love playing in the worlds biggest sandbox. Being an ocean lover and sharing that with little Jack will be an honor and hopefully a memory. The ocean has brought me so much peace and happiness over the years and hopefully he will grow to enjoy it like I have.

So far it has been great. We've been working on the swimming lessons. Here in NC the water is always a little to very rough so no ocean swimming for a few more years but we can still play in the sand and tidal pools do shelling and hunt ghost crabs we dont really catch them. Next year we can start fishing and crabbing.Always lots to do on the beach!

My favorite summer time activity is when my three grandkids come visit for a week and attend our United Methodist Church Vacation Bible School. They are involved in Bible School activities in the mornings, and then we get to play and have adventures in the afternoons and evenings.
