How to contact people about glitches in online game?
I really enjoy the Mahjongg Solitaire game—when it works. The aesthetics are really good, and I can tell which level the tiles are on. But there are numerous glitches, and no way to contact anyone about them. It’s a testament to how addicted I am that I continue to play it! I can’t play nearly as well on games where it’s difficult for me to distinguish the level of the tiles.
To save time, I will simply list the difficulties:
1. When the game loads, the AARP banner often drops in front of the playing field. When that happens is either self-corrects, corrects when the screen is turned from horizontal to vertical, or reloads.
2. The game often reloads when it has gone on for a few minutes, sometimes 5 or more minutes into the game.
3. When tapping tiles in the upper left-hand corner, the question box opens, even if the tap is well below the box. I play on a horizontal screen because of that problem. Chrome doesn’t have the question box in that position, but it has its own problems.
4. There are three ads, one in the main box, one above and one to the side. When I played in Safari (I play in Firefox now.) there was often video in two boxes and animation in a third. The game would reload with the notice that numerous errors had occurred. There are far more ads than in the typical ad-supported game app. I think the games started as free, but I’m not sure. I also seem to remember they didn’t occur between every round of the game. I know AARP is a not-for-profit, but I don’t feel I have much choice in being there as a consumer of ads while the game has so many difficulties. On a typical game app, too, it’s possible to contact the maker about problems. I did contact someone, and they said the game was optimized for Chrome but were unable to address the problem otherwise.
5. The game often loads badly. Tiles that are supposed to be in the middle may be stuck in the upper left hand corner, or they refuse to load.
I think that covers most of it, but I feel uneasy with the increase of ads. I feel the needs of the advertisers are placed over the needs of the member. Some of the ads I think are kind of public service, but that they are placed between every game and overload the site is a difficult situation to understand.

You can get help for the game at the bottom of every game page - you will see Arkadium Support and there is assistance there. Additionally, we have an AARP Games Tips area where you can ask for and give tips for the games.

I I am having the same problems. I called and was routed around to 3 different departments. The last person told me they are working on it and it should be corrected in a couple of hours. That was 5 hours ago. Still not working. They aren't real helpful in correcting issues.

@b105838f , did you try to contact Arkadium for help like AARP Teri's @AARPTeri post said? Good luck, Nicole!

Aha @b105838f , I now understand, thanks for clarifying. IF AARP or AARP Teri or another member does NOT respond, try calling AARP. They are open weekdays 8am to 8pm ET. Good luck my friend, Nicole!

I have the same problem - here is a picture. You can see as I scroll down to see the whole screen, the game goes "under" the banner. Since this is the AARP website, I don't think Arkadium can help. I tried expanding the game and the banner still covers the top.

when I have problems I go straight to Arkadium. It may be a few days of back and forth but they would help me get it better optimized. You can also play directly on their site with no fees but you may get ads. Sometimes the same game on their site is better. Of course if you are playing for points or other perks you won't get it playing on Arkadium's site. I think there is a way to contact their site from the aarp page. Good luck.
