@CarolynB64593 People do win the sweepstakes, but when you only have 1, 5, 10, or 20 winners per sweepstake, and there are probably hundreds of thousands (or maybe millions, depending on how many people are playing them, since they are available to both members and non-members), playing the sweepstakes is like playing the lottery (very low chance of winning). But there are winners (you can look up the winners from a link in the official rules for the sweepstakes). I play 1 or 2 a month, and I have never won (I have been playing since 2023).
I have also played for years and never won anything. This year I won a tiny "instant win" gc and then a couple of months later the monthly grand prize. It made me wonder if more people were giving up, thus increasing the odds for the remaining players.

So weird. When I first logged on today, 9-11-2025, there was a message that the site was fixed and "thank you for your patience". Then when I went to "earn rewards" page, the message is that the site is still under maintenance. I logged out, "cleared the cache", closed browser, opened browser, logged back in, now just the "under maintenance" message. The site has been under maintenance since beginning of Labor Day weekend.

[9/11/25] @KristBelt , maybe they thought it was fixed. I just checked & sign says "technical issues" = NOT maintenance, which leads me to believe site "crashed". Yes, will be 2 weeks this weekend. ☹ Take care, Nicole!

[9/11/25] @rk36384321 , there are "possibly" 3 IT Departments (Helloworld, Merkle, AARP) involved in the "crash" of the AARP Rewards Site. I just wish they can "figure out" what HAPPENED. I am getting concerned about my personal information on the site with all the "hacking" rumors. AARP really needs to do a PRESS RELEASE to "reassure" the public. Anyway, hopeful it will be fixed BEFORE the weekend arrives AGAIN. 🙄 Nicole!

They will politely apologize to you, and ask you to clear your cache and cookies, and ask you to contact them. When the site is finally fixed, will inform you by letting you feel like you have been cheating (not sure how this is possible) and it will work until next time!
This happens several times a year!!

I have to disagree with the statement that no one is winning the sweepstakes. Several months ago I won an AMC gift certificate ($10) in an instant win. Then, at the beginning of summer, I won the grand prize of $1,000. The check was delivered bout 8 weeks later, at the end of August, which is standard for something that has to be reported to the IRS.
I'm sure they are as eager to get this fixed as we are, but I do agree that some better communication would be a big help.
