Tell us about yourself:
I am hearing-impaired and can only correspond via email. I am interested in communicating with residents of the U.S. who can write thoughtful letters on any subject on a regular basis. I am interested in the politics or culture of other countries only when they affect the U.S. I am not seeking romance, or a lifetime partner, and will not respond to one-liners or any who include photos. I am now 80, live alone, and have a dream life which is more active than my mostly uneventful waking hours, I am interested in politics, but neither of the current political parties represent my traditional values. I also like to discuss the moral and financial state of our society, the nature of human relationships, and nostalgia from decades through which I have lived. I am not a churchgoer, but seek a personal relationship with God, believe in angels, and cannot accept the contradictions of the Bible, though it contains much wisdom on how to live. I have always loved music, and though I can no longer enjoy listening to it, I have hundreds of lyrics stored in my head. I will not call dignify much of what is being produced today by calling it music. I read extensively, mostly fiction with occasional nonfiction and classics. These days I mostly stream movies, older TV shows which a family could enjoy together, and adult series with no nudity or foul language. A few samples: Books: Atlas Shrugged, East of Eden, Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin, The Stand. Movies: Oh, God!, The Horse Whisperer, Silverado, Then There Were None. TV series: The Dick Van Dyke Show, Little House On The Prairie, Heartland, Madam Secretary. Music: Romantic ballads, Folk, Country, 50’s & 60’s rock n roll. If you think we would have enjoyable conversations, email me at bjedrick@verizon.net.
Area of knowledge and what I know well:
Politics, economics, nostalgia, 50s-60s music, TV, movies, reading, nostalgia.

I currently receive both AARP Magazine and AARP Bulletin in the mail, but I would also like to download PDF copies to my Windows 10 PC. I was unable to find a way to do this on your website, and a web search only talks about doing it to a smart phone...
