In Backgammon, the best game is often the one where I won by one point. It was challenging.

The timed games mostly frustrate me. Idon't care about those really high scores. I figure whoever got them have figured out how to game the system. If you do that, then what fun is it?

I am mildly competitve with myself.I reach a "high" score for myself and then play to that level of competence. That will tell me if it is a good day or not. If I am tracking well! If not, then I know I had better be careful today. Don't write checks...

I, too, don't think about playing a game on the phone in a waiting room or coffee house. I like reading books (British mysteries at the moment) and carry one with me if I may be in a waiting situation.Regan
