I go to the members section of Rewards and buy discounted gift cards to pay for my cruise. I also save my basic packing list on my computer, after 400+ days at sea I have it down to a science and can travel for a two week cruise with just a carry on ...

I cash in points to get free gift cards and I buy discounted gift cards. I usually use the gift cards myself to get other things for friends and family members.

Never pay full price, there may be the rare exception, but you can always find a deal somewhere. Also, I can do a 7 night cruise with just a carry on and my backpack. You really don't need everything you plan on taking.

I'm hoping to take a cruise and will look on the AARP Travel Center and hopefully combine a deal there with one of the discounted gift cards one can buy from AARP Rewards.
